Gee, thanks for that info Farmer.

Harrelson's wife (Aris, sp?), son KC and their puppy are driving up from Florida to South Bend and will be in Chicago this weekend.

Ill mark that down in my calender

GameDay nugget of wisdom. Trying to throw inside because Duncan is hitting .222 against pitches there versus .224 overall.

Haha. That's going a little bit overboard with their computer analysis software of trends.

Danks has YET to throw a curveball all game. Weird. Not sure how he can make it as a two pitch pitcher with a diminished fastball. Cutter isn't working well, either. Just fastball and slider pitcher for the moment. And he's struggling to put away hitters because his stuff just isn't as crisp, not sure why. This AB started with an 0-2 count and has climbed to 12 pitches already and still no out.

Pretty fortunate Santana tried the delay steal trick again or this inning would look quite differently.

Last time, AJ threw the ball into CF. This time, he was out by a country mile and should have turned back he was that far away from being safe.

I was waiting for it...took Hawk 13 pitches to say the "the more pitches you see, the more dangerous you get line".

I don't really believe in that, because hitters eventually just get in to swing mode and are going to try and make contact with anything. There is a no doubt a long AB is in favor of the hitter, but because of the pitch count, not really the likely success of an at-bat.

It's absolutely true. And pitch count has nothing to do with it, Danks wasn't going to tire in an at bat against Duncan in the 2nd inning. Batters get the advantage because they get to see everything the pitcher's got. And "swing mode" doesn't mean "swing at everything mode". Duncan was hitting the ball hard on a lot of those pitches by Danks, and they were in various parts of the zone. Then he gets one right down the pipe and pops it up. A better hitter murders a number of those pitches that Danks threw.

The only time the pitcher gets the advantage is when the hitter is the type to mindf*** himself throughout an at bat.

Generally speaking, it's tough on the pitcher to see everything he's got being whacked at (somewhat) successfully
