Jake
QUOTE (daggins @ May 12, 2012 -> 08:12 PM) He's done a pretty good job of sitting the Sox down so far. I guess I should say, they have done a pretty good job of sitting themselves down. I'm not all that displeased with our at bats

fathom
QUOTE (Soxfest @ May 13, 2012 -> 02:20 AM) No runs off this meatball in 4 innings is criminal. SOS AJ really struggling in May. Seems to be chasing a lot of pitcher's pitches.
southsideirish71
QUOTE (Jake @ May 12, 2012 -> 08:14 PM) I'm not all that displeased with our at bats The AJ swinging at a ball at his head level was a bit frustrating. Konerko hit the ball well, and so did Dunn that inning.
daggins
So you aren't getting that feeling? The feeling like you are watching 9 guys in a desperate rush to finish the game? This is a feeling I have had many times watching this team. The distinct impression that they simply do not want to play tonight. Tonight is one of those nights. kapzk
Hochevar has the highest opponent batting average among all big league starters and here we are seeing the offense muster 3 singles and getting shutout

caulfield12
AJ was 6/43 coming into this game, and Ramirez with similar numbers. Both Konerko and AJ have never hit Hochevar all that well, their career numbers against him were almost identical.
fathom
Ok Robin, get him out...over 100 pitches is just not necessary tonight.
caulfield12
QUOTE (fathom @ May 12, 2012 -> 07:24 PM) I disagree..this team has been in nearly every game they've played this year. We've already lost 11 games by one or two runs. You're right, very very few of our games this season have been blowouts, and more blowouts by the White Sox than the other way around. daggins
QUOTE (fathom @ May 12, 2012 -> 07:24 PM) I disagree..this team has been in nearly every game they've played this year. I do agree that I have gotten the feeling less so far this year but the team is similar enough to the 2009-2011 squads that played so much corpseball that it is hard to ignore it tonight. caulfield12
QUOTE (fathom @ May 12, 2012 -> 07:25 PM) Ok Robin, get him out...over 100 pitches is just not necessary tonight. Plus, you want him to leave with only good thoughts at the end of his outing. Unlike the ending to the recent Danks start. 103 pitches, will turn it over to Stewart probably...although I'd rather see Jones get a couple of innings right now. caulfield12
QUOTE (Soxfest @ May 12, 2012 -> 07:28 PM) Sale to go 5 is a bonus thought he would be gone by the 3rd. Thought he would be gone in the 1st in that Quintero at-bat. He walks him or that ball goes for a double or homer and this game has a totally different feeling for Chris. This will be the first non-quality start of the season, because there's no way Ventura will let him pitch another inning at 103 already. caulfield12
At least we don't face Cy Chen this series. Then again, worrying about Phil Humber's outing tmrw, could be the biggest current issue for this team, along with getting the bottom of the order hitting. fathom
Viciedo just outclassed by those fastballs. He fouls an insane amount of pitches right down to his feet. Edited May 13, 2012 by fathom
caulfield12
I'm going to go to church for once. (Greg's "human baby pills" comments inspired me to be a better Christian, lol) Maybe that will help the Sox. If I had a lucky Dr. Pepper to drink to rally the Sox, I would drink that, but alas, not available here. Hardest thing about living outside the US!! Soxfest
QUOTE (fathom @ May 12, 2012 -> 08:04 PM) Sox will score at least 3 tonight Ready to change that yet!
greg775
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 13, 2012 -> 12:59 AM) If Morel really has a bulging disk in his back, he should be on the DL. Don't understand why they're trying to let him play through it when it's obviously affecting every aspect of his game and not helping his confidence one iota. Amen. If he has a bulging disk, treat it. As far as this game, you have to admit it's a joke EVERYBODY in the league can bash Hochevar cept the Sox.
