caulfield12
QUOTE (iamshack @ May 12, 2012 -> 06:14 PM) Jesus people...y'all are the biggest fuking buzz kill I've ever seen... Obviously, something's gotten into Sale's head over the last 10 days. This whole situation has been a complete mess, and now Zach Stewart's warming up. Gordon Beckham not helping by messing up a tailor-made double play, either. Now at 27 pitches thrown. Bordering on having his first non-quality start of the season. Scratch infield hit by Hosmer. fathom
It's like AJ is getting away from everything that worked last night. Royals can hit the fastball, yet if you make a good offspeed pitch, they have no prayer.

That's fine, bullpen is rested...just got to keep the damage down. He's just not putting anyone away at all.

caulfield12
When in rains, it pours. Let's hope this is the worst start of his career. Should have already been out of this inning a long time ago. 34 pitches and counting. Amazingly, still only one out. Now two. Just one more, and maybe he can at least go 4 or 5 innings and not wear out the bullpen. 38 pitches. Edited May 13, 2012 by caulfield12

greg775
We can make excuses for Sale and the crowd tonight. Crowd: It's cold and rainy. Sale: Ump sucks. Beckham f***ed up. Royals with dink hits.

He came out rusty, but he got a tailor-made double play, a swinging bunt, and two shanks into the outfield...it's not like he hasn't made any good f***ing pitches
greg775
I hope Hochevar gets squeezed as Sale did and I hope Luke lives up to his 9.00 ERA. 41 pitches and counting.

caulfield12
Barely survived that inning by the skin of his teeth... Wow, that was unexpected. No matter how bad his luck was that inning, it was definitely self-induced. It's like when Matt Thornton gives up hits over and over again in the same fashion...well, if the batters on the other team keep reaching base (except for the Beckham error), then it's hard to blame anyone but yourself. It is uncanny on some of our bigger home attendance nights that we seemingly fall apart. Don't understand why we can't play better at home. fathom
Well, that could have been so much worse. Time to get some guys on base for Dunn and PK.
greg775
That was huge. If that ball clears the fence or hits the wall, this game woulda been OVA. At 3-0, we can hope the ump squeezes Hoch as well and the bats are firing tonight.
