ChiliIrishHammock24
QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ May 17, 2012 -> 05:34 PM) What is on the new patch the Sox are wearing? I haven't noticed it, but I would assume something for Kevin Hickey?

ChiliIrishHammock24
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 17, 2012 -> 05:34 PM) You know what? If his arm isn't conditioned for the slider right now, then don't throw it. Get the arm used to throwing 7 inning games first. Pretty much what Stoney said, but in jest. He said one way to limit hurting your arm with a slider is to just not throw any more sliders.

ChiliIrishHammock24
Hahaha, another infielder that dropped a pop up by the Angels. Lol. Making Beckham look like a superstar in the field. Edited May 17, 2012 by JoeCoolMan24

He said one way to limit hurting your arm with a slider is to just not throw any more sliders. Seriously, it's what Seattle did with King Felix, just had him not throw the slider his first year or two. If that pitch is extra stress...strengthen and adapt the arm first this year then turn him loose once the soreness has passed.
ChiliIrishHammock24
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 17, 2012 -> 05:41 PM) Seriously, it's what Seattle did with King Felix, just had him not throw the slider his first year or two. If that pitch is extra stress...strengthen and adapt the arm first this year then turn him loose once the soreness has passed. IIRC, they had an age limit on the pitch. Like he wasn't allowed to throw it until he was like 21 or something. They had him in their system since he was like 16 maybe.

ChiliIrishHammock24
I get that Pujols does his usual stare at the homerun and pose thing, but that's only ok when you are hitting like the best player in baseball. When you are sucking it up, you don't need to pose for a ball that goes 5 feet over the wall.

When you are sucking it up, you don't need to pose for a ball that goes 5 feet over the wall. But yet, it makes it so much funnier when it gets caught at the warning track. Did he just pass Moyer as the oldest player to ever get an RBI in a game?

ChiliIrishHammock24
Jones has some sick movement on his pitches. 98 MPH that moves like that is unfair. If he can hone it all and locate, we may have found a diamond in the rough.

Jake
Starters not getting through six innings is going to really cost us soon. Need to win this one and then we need some good starts in Chicago.
