caulfield12
QUOTE (greg775 @ May 20, 2012 -> 10:38 PM) Just don't sign him for next year no matter what. We don't need to sign him even if he does well. This guy should be on one-year deals the rest of his career. If he's an asshole do not sign him for more than the rest of this season! Isn't that what Ozzie was complaining about, only having a one year deal and no future job security? I don't think anyone has to worry about KW spending money frivolously....we don't have any to spend. Lemon_44
I saw Stultz got claimed, and pitched a nice game, in SD. So basically the Sox traded Stultz for Hudson.

I'd say that he already has a slightly better chance than Jake Peavy to be a 2013 White Sox. He just has to have a career average year and we'd probably keep him around. flavum
http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseb...,0,916724.story It's rare I agree with Phil Rogers, but I have to agree with him about bringing up Johnson, and releasing Fukudome. Fukudome really isn't doing anything, he was a cheap gamble, but it's not working out. Escobar doesn't seem to be anything great either, but at least he plays infield ok, and can pinch run better than Fukudome. Jake
I wonder if Kosuke has any trade value. The backup thing doesn't seem to be working out, but he's been a decent everyday player. Might be a throw-in or net you a real young guy for a team in need of a LF/RF

Dan Johnson HAS NOT HIT OVER .200 IN THE MAJOR LEAGUES SINCE 2007. If you think he'll be better than Fukudome, you are kidding yourself. If you only have Lillibridge as your backup outfielder with Escobar, Johnson, and Hudson as bench guys you are just asking for trouble. Steve9347
So apparently Hudson is our new starting 3B. Eh, can't be worse than what we've been running out there, that's for sure!

Lillibridge handles himself well in the outfield anywhere. It's covered.

Jake
I don't hate Dan Johnson, but I don't like the idea of having a guy that can only pinch hit and play first base. Really cripples your bench because he can't do anything but hit. He COULD play LF or maybeee 3B but then you're s***ting on your late inning defense. To say Fuku can't hit it past the pitcher's mound is kind of unfair, he's hit better than yesterday and better than his numbers suggest...but he's clearly not accustomed to a bench role. I don't like getting rid of him just yet though, especially when the alternative is so one dimensional.

At least it is still an infield position. Now you want to throw Johnson in the outfield? And what happens if Lillibridge gets injured? Im cool with Fukudome for now.
