caulfield12
16 the record for Sox strikeouts in a game, Jack Harshman in 1954. 14 K's...would have a legit chance at 20 K's, but absolutely no way they're going to push him well over 100 pitches....would they? fathom
It's really too bad his pitch count is up, as he could definitely top 20.
Baron
Its nice to see dominate pitching after what we just witnessed in Cleveland.
caulfield12
That might be the Sox record for strikeouts by a LHP. Was Harshman in 1954 LH? Alvarez's career high?

Balta1701
95 pitches, 69 strikes. Man it'd be nice to see him out there for a couple more innings, but it's not worth the risk
iamshack
QUOTE (chw42 @ May 28, 2012 -> 02:47 PM) This could be Sale's last inning, he's getting up there in pitches. No way

Alvarez's career high? Did Alvarez get a 15 k game once? Maybe 12, coalfield you're the man look it up, I'm too lazy too lol
Steve9347
QUOTE (iamshack @ May 28, 2012 -> 03:49 PM) No way Sorry, he's the future and the best looking pitcher to come up for the Sox in a very long time. They aren't going to give him the 130 pitches he'd need to close this out.
Balta1701
QUOTE (fathom @ May 28, 2012 -> 04:49 PM) He'll get the 7th Can only strike out 3 more guys in the 7th though.
Jake
I always talk to my friends about how despite the great numbers from Sale, he hadn't come full circle yet. Misses spots too often at times, occasionally doesn't mix up pitches, just generally not maximizing potential. Today is what it looks like when he doesn't miss spots, uses all of his pitches effectively, and is just generally a badass
BigSqwert
He definitely should get one more inning.
GoodAsGould
I don't see how you take him out as long as he is dominating.... if pitch count too high can always skip next start.
sin city sox fan
I gotta believe he's got about 12-15 pitches max before he'd be lifted. If he can get through the 7th quickly, that would be awesome. Otherwise, Robin will have to go to the pen to preserve the lead.

caulfield12
You'd have to think that with 95 pitches, at best he'll get the 7th inning to tie the White Sox all-time record of 16. Can't imagine he would get pushed up into the high 110's or low 120's. Guess it depends on how Chris is feeling, but you just can't afford to chance it. 23 pitches last inning, and a few foul balls. Only four "regular" outs.
