Dick Allen
QUOTE (Jake @ May 30, 2012 -> 01:23 PM) I'm not even convinced that it was intentional. Maybe, but I figured AJ knew why he got hit. I'm astonished at what the umpire did. My heart's breaking for Q There's at least a 95% chance it was intentional. Other than Q was cruising, I love what he did. Was there a warning issued earlier? chw42
QUOTE (fathom @ May 30, 2012 -> 01:25 PM) If true, then shame on the Sox. If not, shame on the umps Seriously, throwing at them when you're up two and your starter is rolling is straight up stupid if a warning was already given. If not, shame on the umps they didn't see it, but someone told them during the break. Zobrist pops out to end it. 1-2-3 4th.

iamshack
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 30, 2012 -> 12:24 PM) I bet Wegner is a Spaniard. Clearly this is describing Joe Maddon and his RAYS Tezcatlipoca was the patron of evil and sorcerers, god of the night, omnipotent and multiform. Tezcatlipoca had transformed himself into the first sun, wanting to light the world
chw42
Jones will have to go two innings today. Good thing there's the off-day tomorrow.

ScottyDo
I was looking for a warning after AJ got drilled and didn't see one, unless it happened off-screen afterwards. Announcers sure didn't mention it.
fathom
QUOTE (Quinarvy @ May 30, 2012 -> 06:26 PM) Wait, Robin got tossed too? What the f*** just happened? Automatic ejection for manager if a pitcher gets ejected after warning is given.

caulfield12
Hopefully Jones can get this game through the 6th. Might be a blessing in disguise, who knows. But it sucks to take the win away from Q. This has to be 90% on AJ...or Quintana just not being experienced enough to know how to deal with a situation like that at the big league level. He only has 9 games at AA in his entire career. Jake
I can't believe warnings would have been issued beforehand since there had been no jawing or anything. I also don't know how retaliating could have crossed our minds had warnings been issued.
Baron
QUOTE (chw42 @ May 30, 2012 -> 01:26 PM) Seriously, throwing at them when you're up two and your starter is rolling is straight up stupid if a warning was already given. There wasnt a warning. Robin Ventura is not stupid enough to pull that stunt.
caulfield12
QUOTE (fathom @ May 30, 2012 -> 01:27 PM) Automatic ejection for manager if a pitcher gets ejected after warning is given. There was no warning given to the Rays after the first 2 HBP. Now it looks like Cobb might have been hurt warming up....hamstring/push off leg. Guess he's okay for now. Someone should push a bunt out there and test Cobb's leg. Edited May 30, 2012 by caulfield12
vandy125
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 30, 2012 -> 01:23 PM) Apparently there already had been a warning according to Farmio. I kept hearing say "If" there had been a warning. There had not been a warning that they knew about, and they were looking for one.
JohnCangelosi
I am not sure if today's play at the plate had anything to do with it, but when AJ scored on the sac fly he gave Molina a pretty solid knee to the face (didn't seem intentional) but perhaps that was why AJ got pegged today? NorthSideSox72
SO, for those of us who can't watch the game... looking at Gameday, it seems like... Beckham and AJ were both hit by pitches so far today... and then a pitch behind Zobrist got Q thrown out. What are the missing pieces here? Something about a spiking? cabiness42
Automatic ejection for manager if a pitcher gets ejected after warning is given. Yet Robin wasn't ejected until after he argued for a while so it was not an automatic ejection, therefore no warning was given. f*** YOU WEGNER!
