caulfield12
QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 2, 2012 -> 07:13 PM) Quintana is in? I thought we needed him to start. Yeah, if Danks still isn't ready.
greg775
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 3, 2012 -> 01:13 AM) Reed seems to have Bobby Jenks syndrome. Great in save situations, tie games not so much. It's more than Bobby Jenks syndrome. Isn't that fairly common to all closers?

Soxfest
Hate to see Sox score 8 runs and lose................Sox bailed Floyd out and he just pisses his pants start after start. Edited June 3, 2012 by Soxfest
caulfield12
15-2 run against the Mariners at home was just unreal. We all thought this game was in the bag when we went up by 2, but not so much today. The M's beat the Rangers 2/3, so it's not a complete surprise. And Floyd just hasn't been pitching well. Career-wise, his results against the Mariners were great...and he sucked again, yet was in position to get the win again somehow.
southsideirish71
QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 2, 2012 -> 07:14 PM) He needs to throw his slider more. Seems to have fallen in love with his fastball. It's not like he is calling his pitches. The guy behind the plate gets fastball happy when he puts down the signs.

Balta1701
QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 2, 2012 -> 08:14 PM) He needs to throw his slider more. Seems to have fallen in love with his fastball. His location wasn't as sharp in the 2nd inning as in the first and that's what really got him. That fastball double should have been farther inside, it wasn't, so the guy got the bat on it. That ball to Montero was out over the plate even if it was low.

Balta1701
QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 2, 2012 -> 08:21 PM) Yep, and that's the only place Montero can hurt you right now If it's AJ's usual formula, he likes to get ahead of guys using his fastball and saving the slider as the putaway pitch. If the fastball is located well, it works. If the fastball isn't located well, then either guys hit the fastball, or he falls behind and guys lay off the slider.
