Yeah and Nestor Molina who is lighting in up in AA with a 5 ERA

Nope hes still a year or 2 away, which at what 23 is not a big deal.

Quintana, Doyle, and Axelrod are the 3 guys I can see coming up this year should Gavy continue to falter.

Steve calls every slider a cutter. It's a slider.

I'm gonna go against the grain and say it's not a bad pitch. It's only bad when it is up, like just about any pitch. He throws it up too much.

Not true. The pitchFX data on fangraphs (which is accurate) shows that Gavin hasn't thrown a slider once since 2010. After '10, he scrapped his slider for a cutter, which is now the pitch he throws with the 2nd highest frequency.

With Avila struggling a bit the first half and now out for awhile, AJ definitely has a great shot to make it as the back-up. And he's one of the few guys on the team with a lot of national name recognition when fans outside of Chicago are filling out All-Star ballots. Of course, many of those fans dislike/boo him.

Other than that, you've got Sale and Konerko.

Viciedo and Dunn are pretty much long-shots.
