Speaking of the draft, remember last year when everyone laughed at the Cubs for taking Hayden Simpson in the first RD, a guy that wasn't even considered a top 250 prospect? Well, we were all right.

In 114 pro innings since being drafted, he has a 6.59 ERA, 151 H, 67 BB, and 71 K to go along with a 1.90 WHIP. LOL. Absolutely terrible. Despite being awful, they have progressed him from RK to Low-A, and now High-A. In High-A, he has MORE THAN TWICE as many walks (29) as he does strikeouts (14) in 35 innings. His WHIP is 2.18.

Good lord, he might be the worst 1st RD pick I have ever heard of so far.

Wow, that is just epic fail.

It's hard for me to hate Rios anymore.

He's having a good season.

Maybe he was just a bad ballplayer when he was a centerfielder and can relax more in right or something.

How can you forget that Rios was a near all-star in 2010 while playing CF...?

Man, this upcoming Toronto series will be rough. Their 3 best pitchers (Romero, Morrow, Alvarez) are going.

Yeah, we're not getting any breaks in pitching match-ups the next month or so.

Alvarez has 21 SO in 72 IP? He's skating by on luck.

Oh wow, I didn't know he had such a low K rate. His FIP is 5.4. So yeah...he is skating by on luck.

That K rate has to be lower than Lowe's. (see what I did there?)

Millwood's been very lucky today. Sox could have easily scored 2 more runs in that inning had he not deflected those grounders.

I actually give him credit for those plays. Luck plays a huge facor as to where the deflection will end up, but the effort (and instinct) to throw up a bare hand (or in this case, kick a foot out) is a good way to help save an earned run sometimes.

I'm sure The Home Depot's is pretty low too
