caulfield12
QUOTE (Stan Bahnsen @ Jun 3, 2012 -> 03:08 PM) Mitchell 2-2 already and B-Ham cruising. http://www.milb.com/milb/stats/stats.jsp?s...biraax_mobaax_1 I think we have a real OF prospect again. Yay! 36 RBI's, and, most importantly, his 37th walk of the season.

ILMOU
QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 3, 2012 -> 02:29 PM) If De Aza got hurt, I think they'd be tempted. I'd like to see him on the 25 man playoff roster - can't have too many PR's for a short series. Also has left-side pop. Not getting too ahead of myself, am I? flavum
Is Trayce Thompson really this bad or is he trying to do something new at the plate that will eventually kick in and make him a better player?

ILMOU
QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Jun 3, 2012 -> 05:32 PM) I'd imagine if they didnt want Fukudome on the playoff roster the guy filling it would be Danks. Dome will be long gone before the playoffs, god willing. Hell, I want a look at Jordan soon. It's a long season, and he can back up all three OF, plus he's left-handed - I think he'll get enough AB's. Cerbaho-WG
Do we dare start calling Danks a prospect again? He should be up in Chicago. Now.

JPN366
QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 3, 2012 -> 04:23 PM) Figures KW Jr starts getting hot right before the short seasons start. He won't get cut no matter what. If anything, he'll "retire" quietly in the offseason.

I've been saying this for a while now. He keeps playing until September/an OF gets hurt on the Sox.
Cali
Maybe Danks can be included in a package for Youk. I mean can you imagine that wonderful thick Boston Accent saying his name? "Jaaaahdan Dahhnks"
NorthSideSox72
Jeez, the B-Ham offense suddenly explodes the last two games. Even Dubler put up big numbers.

NorthSideSox72
QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Jun 4, 2012 -> 09:05 AM) Age and natural athletic abilities/tools This^ But there is certainly an interesting discussion to be had about outfielders in the Sox system. You have athletic, toolsy guys like Thompson, Mitchell, Martinez and Walker... but only Mitchell among those is really putting it together with the bat, so far. Then on the flipside, you have some lower round picks and/or older guys, like Haddow, Early and Shoemaker, who are just hitting the s*** out of the ball, but have lower perceived "ceilings". Its good to have both kinds in the system, but the question becomes, how patient are you with the boom or bust guys? When do you decide to give a better shot to the guys performing? There is no magic answer, but, I will say I'd like to see some of the outfielders who fit none of the above categories - KW Jr, Nick Ciolli, etc. - moved out of the way to give both the high performers and the toolsy guys a better shot. Chisoxfn
QUOTE (Cerbaho-WG @ Jun 3, 2012 -> 06:56 PM) Do we dare start calling Danks a prospect again? He should be up in Chicago. Now. I think he's a prospect. Maybe not a great prospect but when you look at the total package, he's done a nice job and can really help a team. I still think he's a better fit in the NL but as a whole, there are a few things Jordan does very well that would help a big league club. He clearly has a few holes in his game as well, but he appears to be building upon them and who knows, maybe he's figured things out. The talent has always been there.
