They keep talking about how "sharp" Gavin was. That's scary. Because the zone is HUGE tonight and the Astros aren't a good offense.

If 6 IP and 4 ER vs. a team like Houston on a night where the zone is huge is the best we can hope for...that's not gonna cut it.

True Dat.

Game of the mentally weak, Gavin and Alexei making two critical errors (one physical, one mental) to give the Astros a gift run.

Lots of hits tonight, but haven't come through in critical situations with runners in scoring position when we've had a chance to tie or take the lead.

11 hits to 5 for the Stros.

Just one of those games that go against you when you're suddenly struggling as a team. Thankfully, we escaped with the win last night or it would feel a lot worse, plus Sale's going tmrw.

Definitely. They added Prince, and a lot of people assumed they were a lock to win 100, but Martinez was huge last year, and a lot of things went right for them. It reminds me of the 1984 Sox, because the Sox rolled over everyone in 83 and added Tom Seaver the next season.

Very true and we know how 84 was for Sox.

I was at the game Saturday right behind the Seattle dugout when Prior came in and struck someone out. The catcher threw the ball to the guy next to me. It turned out it was Prior's first career K, so they needed the ball back. They gave him a ball and a bat.

This loss would be very ugly, yes, but f*** it, we're comin' back and winning.

Because of a broken bat single?

Not to mention a productive groundout to the right side advancing a runner from 2nd to 3rd...and Fuku's .170ish average.
