Thomas has been a .250-.270 hitter ever since '99 with the exception of 2000..... and that may be generous. Is that because he has been DH'ing the majority of the time? Doubt it. So he got hot during '03's interleague. Is that because he was playing 1B during that stretch? Doubt it. As you said, it wasn't because he was playing 1B. It was because the NL pitchers did not really know how to pitch him. AL pitchers have long since figured Frank out.
