End Sale at 80 pitches, then.

Of course, 80 pitches could be 4 innings, it could be 6 innings, it could be 7.

How can you truly measure innings limits?

Why not have a season-long total pitch limit if they're that concerned?

Like I said, it depends on how they plan to do it, because it really did sound like they are going to manage how he pitches in some way.

Because however you do it, it's going to be messy down the stretch. I still think the right thing to do, if you're worried, is to give Sale a break every 5th or 6th start. Use mr offday or a callup. Doing so right now could be rough since we're missing Danks, but when Danks comes back, use that to give Sale a skpped start.

It's like Strasburg with this situation.

The Nats are balking and back-tracking with Stras as well.

I can't even get as excited over the Slam as I'd like to since it was already a 6 run lead. That bum's worthless, just homering to run up the score.

Some guy called in to Mac and Spiegel yesterday saying pretty much that. He didn't get a lot of airtime

(In all seriousness, he's hit plenty of big, key HR this year. Won a game in Tampa recently, for example).

The punchout on the previous AB for Danks was a joke though, the base umpire couldn't even see what happened with the shadows/light playing tricks on him.

Tigers with 2 out rally in Cincy to take the lead in the top of the 8th.

Double by Boesch, Cabrera walked intentionally, Fielder tattoos a Marshall pitch into CF and Boesch slides through the catcher on a very close play at the plate.

Still, the Tiggers' bullpen is beatable this year, two more AB's for the Reds.

Verlander with ND, threw a ton of pitches again.

Not to mention the pitch he just struck out on was a pretty tough pitch
