iamshack
QUOTE (Baron @ Jun 12, 2012 -> 09:49 PM) It was based on you trading a cost controlled talent for someone who is about to have an albatross of a contract. Im just thankful you arent GM. Thats not how franchises are run. Luckily for you, I'm not putting in an application. There are certain players worth the money...is Miguel Cabrera worth the contract? The Tigers were ridiculous to trade cost - controlled talent for him...dombrowski obviously does not know how to run a franchise.
Marty34
Lot of moving parts, long story short, get Grienke for Viciedo, deep run in postseason, resign Grienke. build team around Sale, Grienke, Danks. I bet Kenny and Jerry dont want to give a 7 year contract worth hundreds of millions of dollars to a player right now. Ill take the cost controlled guy who hasnt even reached his potential yet. Cameron Maybin and Andrew Miller were overvalued and had yet to prove anything at the big league level when they were acquired. We have nobody like that, other than Mitchell, and he's not the centerpiece of a Greinke trade. Edited June 13, 2012 by caulfield12

Any money for the White Sox to spend or superstars to attract to the SouthSide? Remember, with Wright, there are going to be some of the same concerns about transition to the AL that were evidenced by Dunn's 2011 and the beginning of Pujols' 2012 season. Peavy comes off the books, but they might need to replace him. They still have Floyd (if they take his option). Same for Dunn and Rios. Plus you have AJ to deal with. And of course Danks is on the books too.

I expect to dump Gavin and Peavy to walk or sign something team-friendly. Our rotation could actually get pretty cheap with the exception of Danksy.
