balfanman
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 13, 2012 -> 07:25 AM) So does Viciedo and Carlos Lee. He'd be a very very bad 3B, couple that with the fact he hasn't hit higher than .200 in the major leagues in 5 years, I'd say it would be a last option. Thanks for all of the information everybody. After thinking about this, Robin Ventura must value defense much more than Ozzie ever did. If Ozzie was still here Johnson would have probably been called up a month ago. He gave up on Josh Fields in LF quickly. Stayed with Omar Vizquel in 2010 because of his defense over Teahen, and the improved defense out of Ramirez, too, as a result. Didn't play Viciedo at times when he was seemingly the better option, especially offensively. Stayed with Juan Pierre over all other options the last two seasons. It might have just as much, if not more, to do with trusting veteran players over younger ones...but you couldn't say he was "offense first," except with maybe Mackowiak, Erstad and Griffey over Anderson in 2006-2008.
