chw42
Gutsy effort by Quintana. I still don't know how he can get guys out with the stuff he has. It must be good location...
Chisoxfn
Big road win against the defending champs. Love it. Q battled through; Jones with a nice relief appearance. Thorty/Crain/Reed doing there thing; Hudson with the 2 run double and Dunn/AJP with their 2 run hr's which made things relaxing.

Baron
If we can get to their bullpen with a lead in these next few games we should be in good shape.
caulfield12
Quintana is the Phil Humber of 2012. Has really saved the team, and especially KW's butt. Whoever recommended picking him up deserves a promotion in the scouting department. Of all the starters in MLB in the middle of June, 2012, his story might be the most surprising of all. This puts a ton of pressure on Humber's next outing.

caulfield12
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 13, 2012 -> 11:21 AM) +1.5 on CLE +6 on DET Despite all the angst over Humber, Floyd and our 2-4 homestand (see Greg), we've lost all of 1 game against CLE and the Cubs actually beat the Tigers, which you wouldn't have predicted, anymore than the Reds' bullpen imploding last night. So things are more or less exactly where they should be... Because I know at the beginning of the year, we all predicted Pablo Escobar Quintana would be gunning down Adam Wainright at Busch Stadium in the middle of June with the White Sox in first place by just half a game! caulfield12
QUOTE (oldsox @ Jun 13, 2012 -> 11:22 AM) Hudson stays alive with big hit. Didn't he do that last week already? 2 more than Alex Rios had all of 2011...joking, sort of.

Swingandalongonetoleft
My sister's fiance's family are Cards fans from Stl, and it just to happens that they are driving up here to the west burbs tomorrow for 2 or 3 days. I hope the next two are as enjoyable as the opener. Peavy tomorrow and then a pitching machine that KW stole from one of those mini golf course & go kart places in the finale. Bighurt52235
For those of you who dislike Hawk, try listening to the lame ass guys the Cardinals run out there. They actually said that Orlando Hudson consulted with Jake Peavy prior to signing here since they know each other from playing together in San Diego. I guess they're allowed to make up whatever bulls*** and flat out lie if they want.

I guess they're allowed to make up whatever bulls*** and flat out lie if they want. I heard a different version. Apparently, KW was eating breakfast and he consulted his Alpha Bits to see who he should sign to fill in for Morel. When a series of O's popped up in his cereal bowl he knew he had to get Orlando. It was later determined that KW was actually eating Cheerios.

Beckham was out at 2nd on his hit prior to Dunn's AB so bases were empty.
