caulfield12
QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 15, 2012 -> 09:41 AM) Tuned in to see another disasterous outing for Floyd. It's really too bad that Cooper never worked on a sinker with him, as that fastball of his is just not an effective pitch. If Danks really had a setback, then this rotation's future for the rest of the year is extremely scary. Just hope it's not the shoulder/labrum. Didn't PTAC write a report about this which didn't seem too discouraging at the time? Guess there's 2 ways to look at this. Without Peavy, Sale and Quintana, we'd be dead in the water and fighting with the Twins and Royals. As it is, we're still 1 1/2 games up for first, Viciedo and Ramirez are ice cold, Dunn's hurt and Konerko's sulking/pouting. The recent performances (except for one) by most of the bullpen have been encouraging. I doubt they would do it, but there might be some consideration given to shifting Nathan Jones back to a starting role. It would be a longshot at this point in the season, definitely. But there's no worse feeling as a Sox fan than not even wanting to turn on the game or watch when the Sox are in first place.

caulfield12
And the Dunn homer makes the game interesting again. DeAza's been so steady getting clutch hits and getting on base this season, he's probably the real MVP (if you don't go for obvious choices like Konerko, Dunn and AJ). Konerko taking some pretty bad swings with advantageous counts in recent days. Getting himself out. Edited June 15, 2012 by caulfield12
fathom
Reviewing the play-by-play, and a question: why in the hell was Gavin allowed to face Adams last inning? Adams struggles against lefties, and it appears Ohman had been warming up.

caulfield12
Here's the other downside to Floyd/Humber starts. Stewart, Santiago and Ohman just aren't capable of holding the team in games....something that the likes of DJ Carasco or Tony Pena were better at, IMO. HOPEFULLY THIS JINXES Stewart into an actual scoreless relief outing. Edited June 15, 2012 by caulfield12
