Doesnt Danks have soreness from his start yesterday?

Is it "routine" soreness or a new/deeper pain or ache that he wasn't experiencing before?

He said the discomfort that he felt when they shut him down was at a level he hadn't dealt with before...even though he felt it would have been possible to pitch through it without being shut down, they want to take the conservative approach and see if they could get him back to 100%.

Axelrod had a crappy start tonight too.

Have Floyd start and Humber finish a la Barcelo and Lowe back in 2000. At least you're moving all of the s*** pitching to one game. Have Stewart pitch the 9th for giggles.

Over the last 28 days, Humber has a 6.11 ERA with a 1.46 WHIP. Over that same time, Floyd has a 14.29 ERA with a 1.90 WHIP.

Yeah, that's fun.

Keep pitching them both and 3rd place will be very soon.

Well, the one way you have to look at this series is that the Indians just got swept and we actually gained ground on them...but we're letting the Tigers back into it.

You can't honestly say that you would have expected Quintana to beat Wainright or Floyd to beat anyone, and Peavy/Lynn could have gone either way with the momentum on Lynn's side and being at home and being the defending World Series champions who were just starting to come out of a slide, 1-2 isn't the end of the world, but it's now what you hope for after taking the first game, obviously.

Not sure what else you can say or do. We knew the Tigers were going to be better when they got Austin Jackson back in the line-up, and he's playing again like he never missed a beat.
