JPN366
QUOTE (Baron @ Jun 14, 2012 -> 01:30 PM) He is still giving up a ton of hits A flat, lifeless fastball will do that. At least Sergio Santos has been on the DL most of the season.

Cerbaho-WG
Hankerd with two more HRs. 10 in 55 ABs. That's incredible.

My question is how in the world did Molina dominate as much as he did last year if his fastball is so mediocre? I would love for someone to analyze his stuff from last year and this year by someone who's seen him both years.

Maybe all pitchers who go from the Blue Jays to other organizations lose 2-3-4 MPH on their fastballs.... Happened to Stewart, too.
ChiliIrishHammock24
I asked Kevin Goldstein how the hell this Hankerd dude can all the sudden hit 10 HR in 56 AB, after never showing much power at any other time. Hoping he would give me some insight about changing his swing, or some real answer, he just simply said it's because he is a 27 year old in High-A. Yeah, I'm not so sure you could take an organizational filler from AAA who is 27, drop him to High-A, and watch him slam out nearly a home run per game. Baron
Kevin Goldstein @Kevin_Goldstein Low margin for error; no real out pitch. BigEdWalsh
QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 14, 2012 -> 07:03 PM) Duente Heath having a hell of a season. Trayce Thompson...more suckage. Surprises me and disappoints. I thought he showed something in spring training. I had high hopes for him this season. Hopefully he turns it around and soon. caulfield12
God, if we could have traded Santos for Middlebrooks or Reddick, we would have been set. Unfortunately, we had Morel and Viciedo/Quentin/Rios/DeAza at those positions. But we're both a bat and starting pitcher short right now... Or is that just randomly thrown out there?
Balta1701
QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Jun 15, 2012 -> 03:01 PM) When was that ever discussed? Or is that just randomly thrown out there? The Red Sox were supposedly annoyed that we dealt Santos to Torotno without talking to them, and then they turned around and traded Reddick for the not-very-healthy closer from the A's. I think most people would take from those deals that the Sox could have had the same offer that the A's got.
