Matt Thornton in tie games scares me.

3 lefties to deal with here.

RV was smart enough to pull Hudson and stick Escobar over there for defensive purposes.....and Eduardo's not a natural 3B either, his position was always SS before the last 6 months where he's been playing all over the infield.

Morel also had a screwed up back.

That's true. Not trying to say something about Brent Morel, just the standard of play and the replacement options in 2012

It's been an awful move. His defense has killed the team in the short time he's been over there.

I disagree. He just hasn't killed us. There have been mistakes, a couple have been costly. He's made a couple great plays, one in particular stands out in my mind as saving a win for us. I'll say that he's played below average defense, but I'm not even convinced of that. He's okay over there. I expect the offensive numbers to pick up because he honestly just looks pretty good up there, works counts extremely well. He doesn't have to hit like a 3B, he just has to be a good 9 hitter and I think he's capable of that

I'm also happy with us shopping for a replacement if the price is low

Soxtalk has now adopted the double switch as a way to indict Orlando Hudson's defense

Double switch, I assume. Only problem is you have to have Escobar lead off in the 9th

I'd almost cross my fingers and pray Lillibridge could close his eyes and hit one out, but Escobar's been at least pesky.

And having Lillibridge play over there defensively isn't the greatest idea in the world, either.

We need to put him on waivers. No one would pick him up.

Funny thing is I'm sure you're making fun of marty, but if someone was willing to take his remaining contract off our books, then I'm not so sure you don't let them.
