caulfield12
Matt Thornton in tie games scares me. 3 lefties to deal with here. RV was smart enough to pull Hudson and stick Escobar over there for defensive purposes.....and Eduardo's not a natural 3B either, his position was always SS before the last 6 months where he's been playing all over the infield. Knackattack
QUOTE (Baron @ Jun 15, 2012 -> 09:48 PM) Hudson just got removed for a defensive replacement. Ventura must have gotten sick seeing that lol
Jake
QUOTE (Baron @ Jun 15, 2012 -> 11:44 PM) Morel also had a screwed up back. That's true. Not trying to say something about Brent Morel, just the standard of play and the replacement options in 2012 QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 15, 2012 -> 11:45 PM) It's been an awful move. His defense has killed the team in the short time he's been over there. I disagree. He just hasn't killed us. There have been mistakes, a couple have been costly. He's made a couple great plays, one in particular stands out in my mind as saving a win for us. I'll say that he's played below average defense, but I'm not even convinced of that. He's okay over there. I expect the offensive numbers to pick up because he honestly just looks pretty good up there, works counts extremely well. He doesn't have to hit like a 3B, he just has to be a good 9 hitter and I think he's capable of that I'm also happy with us shopping for a replacement if the price is low

Baron
QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 15, 2012 -> 11:49 PM) Double switch, I assume. Only problem is you have to have Escobar lead off in the 9th Thats what Im guessing.
caulfield12
QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 16, 2012 -> 12:49 PM) Double switch, I assume. Only problem is you have to have Escobar lead off in the 9th I'd almost cross my fingers and pray Lillibridge could close his eyes and hit one out, but Escobar's been at least pesky. And having Lillibridge play over there defensively isn't the greatest idea in the world, either.

Jake
Abreu should play for the Tigers, they need more offense and strong defenders like Abreu to make their OF match their IF
caulfield12
Abreu 3/8 lifetime against Thornton. Walk him if Herrera steals 2B? Adam Dunn is playing super short.
TaylorStSox
Thornton's lost all confidence in his fastball. He doesn't power through his motion. He expects every ball to be hit. He needs a real positive inning to get right.
