Is there anyone on the face of the planet earth that would say they don't like Vin Scully as an announcer?

What an absolute joy to listen to him call a ball game (and how Hawk is pretty much a joke by comparison haha)

My question is, of course, how does he do that? It will not reflect well upon KW if he trades away one/some of our few promising young players to get a shot at winning a division that will likely require 90 wins or less to make the playoffs. Mortgaging the future is no longer an option, we're not trying to buy into a 1-3 year window anymore.

I think he would trade those prospects away depending on the player. But you can almost feel Kenny itching to make a deal right now. To be honest Kenny shouldnt give 2 cents what anybody on here or the media thinks about his deal. At least thats what a GM should do.

There's no one currently in the Sox minors who us fans should get upset about if they're traded, I honestly believe.

It's more about what we're going to say in three years if we trade away an MLB star or two for a half season of Dempster or something like that while we're itching for more young talent. Kenny certainly wants to make a deal, he doesn't like having a flawed team in a pennant race -- but I'm sure last season is fresh in his mind and you don't want to get caught in the same mindset that sets you up for spectacular failure in the future. Some BS trying to replace struggling players this season is acceptable if the stockpile of young players eventually makes this kind of thing not an issue (either having capable replacements in the minors or at least having a deep enough minor league talent to trade away without ruining the system)

I include young players on the MLB roster when I'm making these statements because I'm sure a lot of people are going to be asking DV-Quintana-Jones for a star player

Dayan's all out of sorts lately. Getting jammed by pitches ahead in the count, yanking pitches late in the count

Sitting on the bench for better part of a week has to be hard on someone as streaky as he is.

Kenny shouldnt care what we say now or in 30 years when he is long gone from the White Sox. He got to be GM of a baseball team that won the World Series. He should be able to laugh off our critisms of him.

Problem with those young ones in the minor leagues right now is there really isnt anyone we should be afraid of getting rid of. Maybe Castro.

As far as the major league roster I agree except for Nate Jones. Be interesting to see what we could get for him.

Certainly. Hard to read what's up, but looking bad on fastballs has been a common thread even throughout much of his hot streak

I don't mean so much that he should care what I say, but JR will certainly be upset if he sees the Cubs or whomever is trading a starting pitcher winning with Dayan Viciedo, Jared Mitchell, Nate Jones, etc. while we have trouble filling those or other positions without spending a good deal of money

Clearly no to trading Viciedo. I actually dont mind exploring deals with Mitchell and Nate Jones.

Nate Jones may be our most expendable piece that actually has a fairly high value
