About 20 rows up is the best look in my mind. The glass is neat if you are 6 but other than that the back rows of the lower bowl and the 200 level is perfect.

I've sat 2nd row 200 level right on the red line. It's basically hockey heaven.

I prefer the 300 level to almost anything (top rows are good) in the 100 level due to sightlines and atmosphere. Years ago I sat 5th row 100 level because a friend got free tickets, and I absolutely hated it. Literally watched half the game on the scoreboard, puck comes back our way, you can see the offensive zone in front of you and that's about it. It's brutal.

Except you can't see through the glass, it's all distorted. And if you're behind a net, so you can see the whole ice, you can't see the other end very well at all.

I guess there's got to be a reason scouts prefer to watch the game with some elevation, even as high as the press box, instead of right on the ice. That or none of us have any idea what we're looking for.

So now you are a hockey scout? lol. OK, as always you have to find some extreme to justify whatever rant you are on.

I'm a scout? I said that where?

How is "scouts prefer to watch the game NOT from ice level" an extreme? It's a fact. Thanks though, great argument you came up with there.

You can see play development from the ice if you know what you are looking for.

Have you ever sat on the glass? This statement clearly reveals that you have not.

It's fun. Action happens in front of you sometimes. It also happens at the other end of the rink behind glass that has been fogged and scuffed up by humans and pucks. And there's a distortion. And there's the fact that you really can't see over f***ing people playing the game.

The view from the 200 level is, bar none, way better than the view from the 1st row. That said, they are both awesome. However, you really can't see much front row at the UC for a Blackhawks game.

I know, because I've actually sat there (I've sat on the glass for a 1998 playoff game against the Avs, multiple times as a Marketing intern for the Blackhawks, and I have played hockey for 20 years and just understand that you really can't see much action from the bench, let alone a seat, when it's at the other end) - not just chimed in from my house in Michigan City, Indiana acting like I had any idea.

Yes. Probably close to 100 times. In college I went to pretty much every weekend home game there was in Ft Wayne. Also was to a few at the UC while they were still $75 each. Usually sat right next to the tunnel in the second or third row (front row was season ticketholders) behind the home team shoot twice net.

Then you must have been completely drunk and/or not cared one bit. To act like you can see all plays develop from that level is completely inaccurate.

lol. Sure dude. You couldn't follow a game there, so no one else can.

You can't see the far end better than you can if you were elevated. I've watched plenty of games from behind the glass - the far end is a guessing game on depth perception in the slot, rebounds, etc. Also watching breakouts and forechecks on that end is tougher. It's not a better "hockey" view. It's for 6 year olds, as someone said.

Again, scouts, coaches, etc...none of them want to watch the game from the glass for that reason. I guess they don't follow the game you can follow.

I can follow a game there, but not as easily as with a different view. That's the point.

Holy s***, I tweeted the EXACT same thing. Weird.

From the Katie Baker story " Let's just say that more than one person in my Twitter feed observed that "The Saad giveth, and he taketh away." http://www.grantland.com/story/_/id/940625...s-bruins-goals/

I've always wanted to sit by the glass. Seems like it would be pretty cool.

I got free tickets on the glass for a Wolves game not long ago, it was pretty fun. Chris Chelios was playing which made it even more enjoyable.

Now you're being petty. I scored 56 goals in one D1 high school season and got a scholarship to Northern Michigan University. I think I can follow the f***ing puck.

Oh yeah, and our championship game that year was played in the United Center like it is every year.

But good call. I can't follow a f***ing hockey puck.

I had season tickets from 1994 until one month before Johnny Toews was drafted, center ice, 10th row, 300 section. They were great seats. Man did I waste some money and then bailed at the wrong time. In 1994 seats were $25. When I got rid of them they were $20

So which Steve are you now? The one who can or can't see?

I see there was an article about fans being worried about Crawford and how he's on the hot seat entering Game Five.

I think that's f***ing stupid of fans. The guy has one bad game in the playoffs after so many great games and some are doubting him and want him pulled? I will be one pissed off fan if he gets pulled. Crawford has been excellent. It's OK he had one bad game. I'd be pissed if I was him n heard the criticism. What do fans want??? Perfection?

Dude, that makes no sense. Of course ON the ice, PLAYING the game, you can see from ice-level. Stuck on one end as the action happens on the other good luck.

I'm done with this stupid conversation. I guess the scouts only sit up higher for easy access to the restrooms. F*ck their jobs and performance, they have to piss.

When you hear about the fans being worried what that actually means is the media is making a big deal out of it , hearing some backlash , then they turn around and blame the fans for being stupid when it was mostly them.

In other words there is no controversy. They've been shooting that way all series. The Bruins have like 5 right handed shooters so on the forehand that's where its mostly going to go any way.Emery won't see a minute, he's been idle too long. The Bruins haven't found some secret weapon to trounce the Hawks and Crawford is not some schlub.

There was one "fan" in this thread questioning Crawford and if they should go to Emery, etc.

Of course it was silly. Consider the source.
