Yeah, I was zzzzzzzz.

I hope on accident. No way you could have decided to go to bed, that game was entertaining as f***, especially the OTs.

Oh, completely on purpose. I had to be at the gym at 5:50am today.

The gym would have forgiven you for double OT. He's cool like that.

I wouldn't have forgiven myself, though. I wanted to reserve any laziness for day after Hawks games. That is of the highest priority.

This all just has the feeling of "see you Saturday at 2-2." Someone step up and help steal this game.

I'm fairly confident. The Hawks played well enough in the 3rd to realize they just have to play their game. I'm sure Q and Co. showed enough tape of Kane stick handling and those STUPID goal mouth passes that they'll be peppering the net.

Hawks will win something like 5-2 or 4-1. I have a feeling they'll outshoot the Kings 15-5 in that first period tonight.

And this will be me.

There is an article on the Tribunes site about Bryan Bickell:

http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/hocke...,2701539.column (hope the link works).

Towards the end of the article I saw this comment and it got me to thinking.

"Right now he's concentrating only on getting his name on the (Stanley) Cup because he didn't get it last time.''

When the Hawks won it all in 2010, Bickell played in 16 regular-season and four postseason games but wasn't among the 52 names engraved on the silver chalice."

I have no idea what it takes to get your name on the cup, but jeez, a teamate who played in 16 regular season games and 4 playoff games doesn't get his name on the cup? Who are these 52 names on the cup for the Hawks in 2010 and how many of them are front office "nobodies"?

Yes, it was the Hawks call to keep him off. They were allowed 52 names. Among them:

Bickell is one thing, but I still find it appalling that Kim Johnsson's name wasn't included on the Cup.

Maybe it's just me, but I think I would put a players name on the cup who had a hand in about 20% of your season & playoffs rather than some of those names that appear there.

The gentlemen all listed there sacrifice way more hours than some of the stars on that team. Each one deserved it.

You conveniently left out:

Penguins O > Bruins O. And actually, with a healthy Crosby...Penguins O > Hawks O.

But it doesn't matter. The Penguins are the more talented team. Period. Doesn't mean Boston won't beat the Penguins, but if the Hawks can advance, they'd beat Boston more times out of 100 than they would the Penguins out of a 100.

If you're strictly looking from a Hawks perspective, you hope Boston pulls the upset.

If you are looking from a Goliath vs Goliath with the potential to possibly one of the best Stanley Cup Final series in the past 20 years, you hope Penguins win the series. But, lowers the chance the Hawks win.

Still feel this way?

I don't see why he wouldn't based on a few playoff games that have gone the Bruins' way. The Penguins are still the much better team. Sometimes, the much better team loses.

Better team with much worse goaltending.

Exactly.

My reply to your post was 100% accurate.

Boston is a very dangerous playoff team because they have really good goaltending right now, a physical point D man in Chara and good clutch scorers. They are tough to beat, even without starting Thomas Vokoun in goal.

The combo of being sick and having to wake up early was too much for me, I died after the first OT. But ya that game was a f***in blast. So much action.
