Minor league pitchers encourage Sox

Brian Omogrosso's fastball is hitting 99mph again?

After an awful April, he is on fire.

In the last two months, over 19 2/3 innings, he has 27Ks vs. 1BB?

Leyson Septimo with 25Ks and 8BBs over 17 innings in the last 2 months?

Several other relievers having very strong seasons.

Very little discussion on Molina. Secretly disappointed? Not so secretly?

Hopefully Castro shakes out, he was awful in his last go at AAA.

Hard to know what exactly is going on...I'm sure they wish he had been more productive this year but who knows what he's been working on or what the exact problem seems to be. He still needs more experience, at the least.

I really like Castro and it seems like we've taken care of those control issues. Would still like to see him show the dominance that was always promised in those early scouting reports.

My q is...is this a "Trying to build up their trade value" article or is this a "we're legitimately going to be seeing some of these guys and maybe sooner than you think" article.

Because if they really believe this...no matter how many articles they write, they're not going to build up Leesman's trade value, he's going to have to prove it in the bigs.

If Septimo can keep his walks down, he has the type of arm to be a lock down reliever.

This is one of the things I love about Target Field. The ushers don't let people down during batters. Only between batters or innings.

Same at Coors Field in Denver, and no one gets upset.

When he was drafted, he had a hell of an arm. Had all kinds of injuries and he never got off the ground. I'm incredibly intrigued about him. If he's healthy, he might be a flash in the pan (e.g., get hurt again) but if his stuff is back to what it was, that would put the Sox in a great position.

I'm hoping he's the first in line if we're able to unload Thornton.

This is exactly who I've been wondering about. Left-handed Nate Jones anyone?
