Sox designate Fukudome for assignment. He only cost $1 million though, not $48 million.

Champagne cork popping. Hoping this means more of JorDanks despite his overeager bonehead play last week.

So they had to DFA Fukudome to add Bruney to the 40, which seemingly means that JorDanks is up for good.

You could see that coming. Danks instantly moved ahead of all of the bench players as the first guy off of the bench.

All good moves, except I might have wanted a non-Bruney reliever

This, absolutely. Seen enough here, and want to move along.

Philip Humber's injury is a "right elbow flexor strain". #WhiteSox

I don't wish injury on anyone and hope Humber recovers, but unless this issue is what is responsible for his performance as of late, this is addition by subtraction.

Chicago White Sox ‏@whitesox

#WhiteSox place Philip Humber on 15-Day DL retroactive to 6/17 with right elbow flexor strain.

Chuck Garfien ‏@ChuckGarfien

Humber has a right elbow flexor strain. Bruney 1-3 with a 1.85 ERA, 11 saves, 3 starts for AAA-Charlotte.

Can't really complain between the injury and the pure bad he's been so far, but I think it could have probably gotten better. 50 sporadic PAs this year isn't really indicative of what he would provide in the long run.

I agree that had Fukodome gotten more playing time he wouldn't have been near as bad, but I love that fact that their going with Danks. His bat should be just as good. Combine that with his youth, ability to run the bases and his stellar defense and he's a great fourth outfielder.

Fukudome was a huge bust this year, but I give KW credit for signing him and then releasing him when Danks passed him on the depth chart. I do wonder how serious Humber's injury is, or is this just a breather for him.

Hard to be a "huge bust", when you are only being paid $500K.
