Dick Allen
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 6, 2012 -> 01:12 PM) Charlotte Knights @KnightsBaseball @whitesox Philip Humber to continue his rehab & is scheduled to start tonight for @KnightsBaseball. Gates open at 6:00 PM, 7:15 1st pitch. IMO, a big start. If he gets knocked around again, KW needs to start keeping a close on on starting pitchers. Of course if Danks can get back and Floyd can do anything, the Sox 5 match up favorably with any team in their division.

The Ginger Kid
I thought this was a pretty interesting take on Humber... http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1246191...roatation"" target="_blank">Bleacher Report Does Philip Humber deserve to have the fifth spot in the Chicago White Sox starting rotation given to him when he returns from his stint on the 15-day DL with an elbow flexor strain? The short answer is no. Kenny Williams and the White Sox would be going against the numbers and what is working for the Sox this year if Humber is given his old spot in the rotation. Let’s look at the numbers. Outside of the perfect game he threw against the Seattle Mariners on April 21, Humber has been downright awful. Following the All-Star break last year, Humber won once with an ERA of 5.01 and a batting average against of .287. Prior to his stint on the DL this year, he has won one game, owns an ERA that sits a tick above six and has already given up 12 home runs. Combined, Humber is 4-8 with an ERA over 5.50 since the All-Star break last year. This is almost a year's worth of statistics, not a stretch of three or four bad outings but 22 starts. southsider2k5
With Heath going down, it isn't going to be Humber coming back. Crain will have put in enough DL time to come back however. The Birmingham Barons and Chicago White Sox have announced that RHP Philip Humber will make a rehab start for the Barons during the team's Wednesday, July 11th home game against the Tennessee Smokies. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 PM CDT.

Yes but it still wouldn't explain why they would go through the KC series a pitcher down. I think Bruney is probably coming back.

I think Bruney is probably coming back. They won't. I'm betting Crain is back. Once Humber is ready, Omogrosso probably goes down, with Axe to the pen.
