For Peavy to win any game he was hung with a loss on this year, he would have had to have thrown a shutout. Today appears no different.

Poor Peavy. Last night was a plethora of runs. Today nothing. He has to be pissed.

Would really prefer Omogrosso to get his chance here, don't care that it starts with ARodl

Especially if they alter rotation next week and have him go on 4 days rest instead of 5

Quintana gave up 4 runs in one inning last night and the offense had his back.

All these guys better apologize to Peavy after this game is over.

Four runs isn't bad on the road against the Yanquis.

It is what it is, but it by no means entitles Peavy to be upset about run support. Quintana giving up a ton of runs yesterday and winning has nothing to do with it, he got lucky.

If he pitched Thursday he gets a no decision, yesterday a win, today a loss. He's been snakebit this season. They don't score when he pitches.

Memories of his San Diego days

They were facing a rookie. When you are the ace of the staff your team is almost certainly facing one of the opponent's best pitchers every time you pitch. Tough s***.

He gets less run support than anyone in the league. He won't complain about it, but he's certainly entitled.

Jake is now 1-3 in complete games this season. He must hate this offense.

No one pays attention to wins. When he negotiates a new contract, those complete games will be just as valuable.

Those other losses, hell yeah it sucked that we didn't score. He didn't pitch that great today, so the run support isn't a big deal. If you would have told him he'd give up four runs today he would have hoped and prayed for an ND

exactly.

And I understand losing, but getting shut out as many times as we do? That I don't understand.

He pitched well enough for a victory. If the Sox don't score here, they will have scored 2 runs total his last 4 starts.

I think you are wrong. The Sox bats didn't give Jake a chance. Anytime you have to pitch a shutout to get a no decision is not good.

11Ks against the Yankees lineup is pretty good actually

Good luck to any team willing to give him more than a one or two year deal with his health history.

Got to pass on Jake if you are a GM unless he'll go one or two years at six mill a year.

I just want to clarify here that we should win all games in which our starter surrenders 4 runs. Is that correct? I don't like getting shut out but losing 4-3 or 4-0 is a loss all the same

I think you'll be shocked at how much Peavy gets this offseason. If Dodgers don't get Hamels, I expect them to offer Peavy something like 3/45.
