Donny Lucy's Avocado Farm
Lets review the evidence, shall we: He has been the cornerstone of the White Sox roster for seven seasons. He is one of the top-5 offensive catchers in all of the game and has been for seven seasons (seriously, find me five better catchers for seven straight seasons 2005-2012) He is the thorn in the side of every opposing team the Sox face, year in, year out. Face it, he makes s*** happen. He has (statistically proven fact, check fangraphs) been one of the best "game callers" and "staff handlers" in all of the game for the better part of a decade. AJP is not an All-star. He is a world champion... and a badass muthaf***a. If we are so honored as Sox fans to vote for AJP in the final vote, let's make it happen. Greg Hibbard
In an era where OPS reigns supreme in evaluating offensive contributions, he just doesn't hit enough jacks.

greg775
Great post. He'll never win the fan vote, but would be a GREAT CHOICE.

caulfield12
Why would he not make the All-Star team as the back-up this year? The only questions will be Peavy and Konerko. Sale will definitely be named.
southsider2k5
I'd have to see the full rosters to see who got taken from the s***ty teams of the world.
Ross
Can we just do away with the fan vote?
caulfield12
Phil Rogers dedicated his column today to the undeserving All-Stars, as well as those who should be in, and argues against including one player from every team in the majors. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseb...,7024785.column Also, for those interested, another puff piece hyping Soler as the second coming in the Tribune, if you can stomach it. southsider2k5
QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jul 1, 2012 -> 12:21 PM) He's won it before. Yeah, hello... Punch AJ?
Dick Allen
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 1, 2012 -> 12:30 PM) Yeah, hello... Punch AJ? Brooks gets a lot of s***, and some of it he probably deserves, but that campaign was genius.
chw42
He'll be on the final vote ballot again and he'll probably win. He's been the second best C in the AL this year (next to Mauer), but he's definitely been the best power hitting catcher in baseball. Dick Allen
AJ deserved it, didn't get it, but its better for the White Sox he gets the time off.
Melissa1334
the players voted in weiters, theres no way that the players who voted aj the most hated were going to vote him in. everyone hates him and thats his own fault
SOXOBAMA
AJ got ripped off. Wieters shouldn't be an all star
Steve9347
This is the f***ing dumbest news I have ever heard. AJ has been f***ing aewsome this year. I had water in my basement this afternoon, and now this - I think the AJ news is worse. I am pissed the f*** off.
Reddy
Wieters OPS: .778 Pierzynski OPS: .849 Um, what?
BigEdWalsh
Totally stupid. AJ should be the starting catcher, but of course with the moronic fan vote. He's screwed even before the voting starts. So no big suprise that he wasn't voted in but for him to not be selected, ridiculous. Wieters, less hits, less triples (haha), less hrs, less rbi's, way lower BA. chw42
QUOTE (Reddy @ Jul 1, 2012 -> 05:59 PM) Wieters OPS: .778 Pierzynski OPS: .849 Um, what? Players and opposing managers don't like A.J. It is what it is.
ChiliIrishHammock24
People should be mad at the fans for voting in Napoli, not the managers/players for picking Weiters. AJ deserves it more than Weiters, but a LOT of catchers deserve it more than Napoli. It should be AJ starting, and Weiters/Mauer as the backups. LittleHurt05
Gotta love AJ: "@aandro: Rangers manager Ron Washington said All-Star omission he feels for most is White Sox catcher A.J. Pierzynski." @scottmerkin: AJ on Washington feeling bad he was left off: "If (Washington) felt that bad he would have put me on the team." Quin
AJ should be the starter. Or in the Fan vote with Peavy in. This is bulls***.
flavum
The best revenge would be for AJ to kick the Rangers' ass the next couple games. Maybe round the bases, hit home plate, and wave to Ron Washington.
