Quin
Also, it's amazing. We have three All-Stars and still have two (major) snubs. Who saw that coming?

fathom
I was really impressed with the effort the Sox put into getting votes for Peavy. Seems like a really good week for the chemistry in the clubhouse. Edited July 5, 2012 by fathom
Soxfest
QUOTE (Jake @ Jul 5, 2012 -> 04:02 PM) I'm not convinced it works exactly like that. They can vote just like we do..............not much to convince!
justBLAZE
Did they have the final numbers? was it at least close?
southsider2k5
THANK YOU, WHITE SOX FANS White Sox fans - you're awesome! I can't even begin to express my appreciation for everything you did this week to try and get me on the American League roster for the All-Star Game. Like I said all along, even more than winning or losing the Final Man vote, I feel incredibly blessed to have the support of the front office, my coaches and teammates and, of course, you, the best fans in baseball. Though it didn't go in our favor, this vote and the amount of effort put into it - from the campaign taglines and videos to all the words of encouragement and excitement - reminded me of everything I love about baseball. I'd like to congratulate Yu Darvish of the Rangers - he's a great pitcher, and I know he'll be a valuable addition to the AL staff. And I wish my All-Star teammates Paul Konerko, Adam Dunn and Chris Sale, along with the whole AL club, the best of luck in bringing us home-field advantage in the World Series - because I strongly believe that it's going to matter to our ballclub in the end. I can't wait to get back on the mound and do everything I can to help us capture the AL Central Division title and win another World Series championship for White Sox fans and the city of Chicago. Get ready for a whole lot of fun during the second half! Thanks again, White Sox fans. Sincerely - Jake Peavy
caulfield12
You can make strong arguments for Peavy, Rios and AJ.
bjm676
King Felix is pitching Sunday, according to MLB.com. So Jake still has a chance.
kwolf68
QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jul 5, 2012 -> 06:31 PM) f*** me. I voted 200 times. Any pitchers scheduled to go that won't be on the roster? Is Sabathia gonna pitch? Sabathia will miss the game/not pitch from what I read on mlb.com. Does this open up a spot for JP?
Quin
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 6, 2012 -> 09:09 AM) You can make strong arguments for Peavy, Rios and AJ. But AJ and Rios are flat out ridiculous snubs.

soxfan49
Way to go, Jake. I was one of many who doubted your acquisition and your injury plagued past, but you're really bringing it in 2012. Keep it up. Have some fun.
thxfrthmmrs
I always wondered how the personal accomplishments work in this situation, does both Peavy and Wilson get an All star team appearance in their resume?

southsider2k5
QUOTE (Jake @ Jul 8, 2012 -> 05:24 PM) I hope Napoli falls down the stairs and has a [minor] injury I don't. I hope AJ stays snubbed, Napoli goes 0-4 with 4ks and AJ plays the second half mad as hell.
elrockinMT
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 9, 2012 -> 03:25 PM) I don't. I hope AJ stays snubbed, Napoli goes 0-4 with 4ks and AJ plays the second half mad as hell. I like this idea. But, I think we are deserving on some more All-Stars. AJ certainly but we seem to miss Alex Rios. What a season he is having!
hogan873
The All Star selections are a joke. It's all about popularity and what team players play for. Yes, there are the manager picks, but as we've seen this year, even they don't mean much. Ozzie did the same thing in 2006. If the All Star game continues to mean something, the best players should be playing, not the most popular.
