southsider2k5
Please hold up Kevin Youkilis's back. That is all.
everafan
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 5, 2012 -> 09:33 AM) He's good, he's honest, he's leading us to the playoffs. Book it. yeah - I hated him with the red sox - that stupid way he holds the bat - that intense look and grindiness - thought it was all for show. I'm coming around
Harry Chappas
Herm'll fix him. He lost on the morel but as he kept Thome amble, he so to with the YOUK.
TheChrisSamsa
After experiencing his at-bat in the 10th last night first hand, I have to say, I'm officially a Kevin Youkilis fan. It's only. 9 games, but he looks like he has locked down the biggest gap that this team had.

elrockinMT
I am sorry I doubted Youklis. Even with a potential bad back issue at some point he is 100% an improvedment for the Sox at 3B. I have really enjoyed watching him and seeing hnis intensity and production. It can't do anything but make this team better
hogan873
He seems 100% healthy right now. His defense has been outstanding (he made a couple plays last night that he would not have if he did have a bad back), and he's doing a fine job at the plate. It was really cool being there at the game and see him make the game-winning hit. I think it's fair to say that he is already a fan favorite. caulfield12
Youkilis fouled off something like 8 pitches in a row. His at-bat was nearly 8 minutes long against Adams. DeAza's at-bat was a little short of 5 minutes, including the time down on the ground for the foul off the right knee. All told, 13 minutes, no outs, two great AB's. ChiliIrishHammock24
Spring 2012 this year when I went to Florida to interview players was when I realized I became a Youk fan.... While the team is having an infield meeting, Youk is on the mound, making fun of ex-teammate Jonathan Papelbon. It was very funny.
Kyyle23
QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jul 5, 2012 -> 11:09 AM) Spring 2012 this year when I went to Florida to interview players was when I realized I became a Youk fan.... ChiliIrishHammock24
Oh yeah, and this one. They were taking infield and throwing home. Youk charged this ball, and as he fired home yelled "DIIIIIIEEEE!!!!!!!" at the top of his lungs. Guy just likes to have fun.
thomas_35
not sure how anyone could've hated on Youk, even when he was with the Red Sox. he's a GRINDER (can we still use this term even with Ozzie gone? LOL) and it's exactly the kind of guy the Sox have been lacking since the 2005 team. i was leary about Robin slotting him in the #2 hole the way Bacon was hitting, but with Youk's OBP i think it was the right move. honestly, i don't think Beckham would have gotten the hit last night had he been in that situation. let's get the SWEEP today, boys! TitoMB345
I was definitely skeptical of what we were going to give up for him, but considering we gave up trash and got (so far) gold, I'm fairly happy with how this worked out. Keep it up, Youk!

Usually when i go on a fireworks game I think the crowd sometimes isn't into it, but last night people were into the entire game I thought. Even my wife commented on how enjoyable and exciting the game was...and she hates sports.

thomas_35
you could definitely tell these past 2 games at the Cell have been pretty packed, albeit it was July 3rd/4th...BUT, if this team continues to stay in 1st place (day 38) i'm sure more and more people are going to start coming out. i know i have already looked for tickets tomorrow or Sunday. i would like to catch a game since they are going to be on the road pretty much all month. greg775
QUOTE (Reddy @ Jul 5, 2012 -> 08:30 PM) honestly, for all you KW haters out there, you've been served. remind me all the talent we had to give up to bring in a difference-maker like Youkilis? He got it right this time. A lot of us KW haters have been dying for a trade like this where the Sox DO NOT GIVE UP our good prospects for a player like Youk and merely ship two stiffs like Lilly and Stewart off the current roster for said player. Is it that difficult? This trade is like trades other teams make and I applaud Kenny for finally making a trade where he doesn't overpay with our good prospects. If Kenny keeps this up, his approval rating will go up and up.

You can't deny he's had some HORRIFIC moves the past several seasons. He deserves credit for putting together a WS winner as well.
