southsider2k5
Just got done reading a couple of interesting things about Kid K. Here is one. Over Kerry's last 5 games, he has pitched a combined total of 27 innings. This is how he has faired: 27 Hits 21 Runs 39K's 18 Walks Cubs are 1-4 over that span. Hopefully this doesnt continue but i seen no sign of improvement today. He's giving up a hit and nearly a run every single inning. And the other one is that in the post game show today, Dusty Baker apparently said that Kerry's back has been hurting him now for his last 4 or 5 starts. Hmmm anyone think the fact that Wood is somewhere in the top 3 in pitches per outing is catching up with him? Wood just isn't physcially able to pitch that much. The guy has already had one major surgery and Baker is running him, Prior, and Zambrano into the ground.
CubKilla
Kid BB's days are numbered considering he throws so hard after having Tommy John Surgery. A sore back will be the least of his problems down the line. Zambrano will join Kid BB in the injury dept as soon as mid-'04..... IMHO. Probably not Tommy John Surgery, but shoulder problems from throwing hard (mid-90's) and over use. Prior is so fluid in his motion that I don't think he will ever be afflicted by serious arm problems from just pitching. Overuse may play a factor into future missed starts for Prior, but I don't really see long term problems for him down the road. His mechanics are awesome..... bordering on flawless. A similar Giles/Prior-like crash comparable to the one earlier this year on the basepaths may be the only thing that could derail the future of Prior. Too bad he pitches for the Cubs. I can't wait till he leaves them Maddux-Style
