fathom
QUOTE (Jake @ Jul 20, 2012 -> 02:59 AM) That managing boggles the mind No idea what Ventura's been thinking since the day before the ASB. Some decisions being made that are killing this team's chances to win games. Oh well, time to see if they can rebound against the Tigers. Oh, and Youk's hamstring better be bad in order to not use him as a PH there.
kitekrazy
Another mental midget moment. Hopefully we won't see more of them this weekend..........but we probably will.
Kyyle23
One day, managers will realize that you never put in Thornton in the 9th. One day
Soxfest
Escobar left 2 guys on in the 9th and blew a DP.............he has no business taking a roster spot.

mgaughan09
Not Addison's fault at all. He was hung high and dry, never shoulda got to that point. Somebody needs talk some sense into Robin, not sure if Parent or Coop have yet but this is ridiculous, honestly. Can't wait to hear Rangers lame ass excuses for Robin

kitekrazy
Maybe Kenny can trade Thornton so no more managers will put him in the 9th.
Melissa1334
lol u would have thought the red sox won the world series...so where are the people that said reed is fine? this is why i said you need an insurance closer(putz, krod etc)
soxfan49
QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jul 19, 2012 -> 09:01 PM) Escobar left 2 guys on in the 9th and blew a DP.............he has no business taking a roster spot. I don't 100% agree with the last statement, but yes, he was pathetic today. Reed has to start that inning. Just because 50% of the first 4 hitters were LH doesn't mean they need a LHP against them. If they did, leave Quintana in. 103 pitches, 103 pitches, who cares? I hope Peavy brings it tomorrow.

kapzk
Would have walked out with a win if Youkilis pinch hit for Escobar in the top of the 9th.

fathom
QUOTE (JoshPR @ Jul 20, 2012 -> 03:03 AM) Huston street anyone? This bullpen is terrible right now. Absolutely in shambles, as your two best relievers have been awful of late. The sad thing is this will cause Ventura to continue to overuse Peavy and Sale. mgaughan09
Gonna find out what this team is made of this weekend. Time to put your big-boy pants on guys. EDIT: I suggest no ESPN for the next 24 hours, this will be dubbed the turning point in their season, Bobby V is a genius and the east coast nut hugging will reach new, never seen before heights Edited July 20, 2012 by northside sawx
Feeky Magee
So many bad things/decisions happened late in that game after the double play. - Ground rule double for Beckham instead of RBI triple/inside the park homer. - Not pinch hitting Youk for Escobar with runners on 2nd and 3rd, top of the 9th, 1-0 up. If he's available to PH as he apparently was, then HOW do you not PH him there? - Bringing in Thornton. - Keeping Thornton in after the lead-off hit. - Escobar not getting the double play. - Deciding to throw an 0-2 fastball. - Deciding to throw a fastball inside to Ross who can only hit that pitch.
