Just for reference sake, Josh Hamilton is hitting .156 since the ASB, and .164 in July, after .223 in June (OPS's of .754/.569 respectively). He was in the third spot in the Texas line up.

Yeah, doesn't mean they are any less dumb than we are.

Ron Washington is a bad manager when it comes to baseball decisions.

DAN HAYES

Paul Konerko reiterated again on Monday afternoon his wrist isn’t the cause for his recent power shortage.

The White Sox first baseman is 8-for-20 in his last six games, but hasn’t homered since June 29 in New York. Konerko had a procedure on his left wrist on June 6 to move a bone chip from a painful area into a less painful one. He could require surgery after the season to remove the chip altogether.

Asked if his wrist was a cause for his lack of power, Konerko replied “no.”

White Sox manager Robin Ventura thinks the six-time All-Star is just in a rut.

“It’s part of you going through a period where you hit well, and then go through one that’s not as good for you, so you got to find something to start with,” Ventura said. “Which is like basic and that’s what he’s gone back to, getting inside and go the other way and make adjustments.”

Many of Konerko’s recent hits went to the right side. He said his approach is merely his way to deal with how opposing pitchers have attacked him lately.

Konerko is only hitting .245 since May 27 but has had three two-hit games in the last six days.

“I think you have to take what the pitcher gives you sometimes,” Konerko said. “That's really not a bad approach for anybody at any time. Sometimes the hits take you that way. I hit a couple balls in Boston to the left side. I don't really know. You just kind of play and some balls take you different ways at different times. That's how it is.”

Great to see Paulie blast that homer tonight. Great to see his name second in league leaders every day in batting average. I still think he's lying about the wrist. He's a gamer. To flat out lie is kinda weird, though.

If my math is right, Konerko is 18 for his last 39.

Where the heck did we get the opinion he was struggling? It seemed like he was never getting a hit for the longest time. He still was excelling apparently.

He was struggling big time pre all star break. Regression to the mean, was bound to happen(same thing that's going on with Hamilton) but he's been great since the ASB.
