ChiliIrishHammock24
Walker went 2/4 with 3 RBI, BB, 3 SB. He also stole another base, but it was credited as "defensive indifference" so he didn't get the credit for it. He has 45 SB to 11 CS this year. Batting around .285 between Low-A and High-A with a nearly .400 OBP. I'd have to say his stock has risen this season. Trayce went 2/3 with 2 BB, SB, 0 K. Batting .236 now. Hitting about .260 in July. Not bad, but still needs to get that AVG way up. Terrance Marin still dominant. 46 K to 7 BB in 42 IP in High-A. ERA under 1.70 on the year now. winninguglyin83
Walker's season has been encouraging. Considering his lack of experience and athleticism, I have hope. Thompson will also require patience. Appears he has too many holes in this swing, but maybe somebody can help him make more efficient contact. Marin has given up 24 hits in his last 20-plus innings. He'll be 23 next month and still in High A ball. Not getting excited about a minor-league reliever with those numbers.
Cali
Walker's strong season seems like nothing more than increasing his trade value. With Hawkins drafted this year, I wouldn't be surprised if the organization finds him expendable now...
caulfield12
QUOTE (Cali @ Jul 23, 2012 -> 10:21 PM) Walker's strong season seems like nothing more than increasing his trade value. With Hawkins drafted this year, I wouldn't be surprised if the organization finds him expendable now... Mitchell still probably has a bit more value, but it's close. Depends on what happens with Viciedo and DeAza. I think they hold onto them for depth unless that perfect deal for a starting pitcher comes along. NorthSideSox72
QUOTE (winninguglyin83 @ Jul 23, 2012 -> 10:29 PM) Marin has given up 24 hits in his last 20-plus innings. He'll be 23 next month and still in High A ball. Not getting excited about a minor-league reliever with those numbers. His BAA was .151 in Low A, now .262 in High A. GO/AO cut in half. On the other hand, his K rate is actually a little higher, and the walk rate is a lot lower. Nothing to get overly excited about, but, worth keeping an eye on.
