caulfield12
Hope Johnson isn't the PTBNL in the Myers deal. Ayala and Jaffe continuing to struggle mightily. Chris Beck has a 4.00 ERA, but a pretty miserable 26 hits in 18 IP. He really needs to get straighted out by the coaching staff and Allen Thomas. ChiSox_Sonix
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Aug 2, 2012 -> 01:29 PM) Hope Johnson isn't the PTBNL in the Myers deal. He really needs to get straighted out by the coaching staff and Allen Thomas. 8 games. 30 at bats. He's barely 18. And he's only struck out in 6 of those at bats so he's putting the bat on the ball
southsider2k5
Any ideas why Bristol as a team is having such a bad season? Do we have more high school kids than usual there?
danman31
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 2, 2012 -> 01:35 PM) Any ideas why Bristol as a team is having such a bad season? Do we have more high school kids than usual there? The high schoolers haven't stood out and none of the foreign prospects have been any good. NorthSideSox72
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Aug 2, 2012 -> 12:29 PM) Chris Beck has a 4.00 ERA, but a pretty miserable 26 hits in 18 IP. He really needs to get straighted out by the coaching staff and Allen Thomas. Take a look at pitchers on Great Falls, and the entire Pioneer league, really. In the entire Pioneer league among qualifying starters, there are a total of 4 - again, in the entire league - with ERA's below 3.86. One of those is a 23 year old NDFA, another is in his 3rd year in rookie ball. It is a hitters' league in a big way. Also, everyone knew Beck was in GF just to get some innings in and work on some stuff, with the plan of getting him in shape for 2013. No one was expecting much of him statistically, especially in that league.
danman31
I've been quite pleased with what Beck has shown so far.
NorthSideSox72
QUOTE (danman31 @ Aug 2, 2012 -> 04:17 PM) I've been quite pleased with what Beck has shown so far. For him to just get out there and pitch innings and stay healthy was enough for me. Maybe avoid getting completely shelled. He's done all that.
