Noonskadoodle
Scotty Pods was released by the DBacks. He was hitting. 387 in 70 plate appearances with the Red Sox. Will never forget what he did for us in '05. I'm sure he will latch on somewhere else, & I wouldn't mind seeing a contender pick him up. 2nd_city_saint787
I wouldnt mind it just because I'm in talks about trading my xbox for a signed pods sox jersey. Maybe if he's back on the sox it'll boost the value a lil bit.

Balta1701
I prefer to have our backup OF be able to provide defense, particularly in CF. If we're replacing the guy Olmedo if I even got it right with someone, I'd prefer it to be a guy who can cover infield.
Princess Dye
Since we don't have a constant need for defensive replacements in the infield... I'd also like one of our backup IFs to be a speed guy for PR purposes.
knightni
QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Aug 3, 2012 -> 12:52 PM) ...a strained groin. Um... yep.
witesoxfan
QUOTE (knightni @ Aug 4, 2012 -> 12:47 AM) Um... yep. That may have been what Kyle was going with, but the fact of the matter is, Scott Podsednik was 44 of 53 in stolen base attempts in the first half of 2005, and a horrendous 15 of 29 in the second half, and it was entirely due to a strained groin. The entire value of a player like Scott Podsednik is that he can get on base and steal bases, and with a groin that has shown to hamper him for half a season (or more - he was 40 of 59 in 2006), he's absolutely not worth it. If there were a chance in hell that he could play a slick shortstop in his spare time, then perhaps this would be worth consideration. Otherwise, Willie Harris or Chris Widger make more sense. Kyyle23
I actually wasnt going with the "Lisa Dergan strained groin" joke, it was actually just pointing out that the guy yet again hurt his groin and that is something I really dont want any part of
