The Ginger Kid
QUOTE (Noonskadoodle @ Aug 3, 2012 -> 09:02 PM) Thought they only had 24 hours to do so? They'll file it but it won't be considered until Monday because the league offices are closed

RME JICO
Great win considering Greinke vs Humber matchup and the fact that Dunn/Konerko combined 1-9 at the plate. Santana and Haren for the next two seem like favorable matchups for us. Great way to start the series. LAA pitching has allowed 34 runs in August already. The Ginger Kid
"I think it's a very clear case in our favor...all 3 umpires agree he was inside the line. But they said they have discretion not to call it if he didn't disrupt the throw.." Soscia is pissed

chetkincaid
Man... All the bad feelings around here about Rios last year... people talking about how he was lazy and worthless and didn't care... It makes it feel that much better seeing him do so well for the team. Good s*** Rios... Good s***.

But they said they have discretion not to call it if he didn't disrupt the throw.." Soscia is pissed The rules says it's the umpire's judgment. Thus, the Angels have no case here if the umps said it didn't disrupt the throw.

fathom
QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Aug 4, 2012 -> 04:23 AM) It was a very s***ty throw by Ianetta If the umpires said they knew he was inside the line but it didn't impact the throw, then a protest seems ridiculous. MLB Network discussing the situation right now.
Melissa1334
thought i saw too that they could overturn it if it drastically affected the outcome of the game. imo, it didnt. the angels had the lead and blew it and cmon, greinke was just bad in that inning. soscia is an idiot, get over it

They haven't even really discussed if it could possibly be overturned. More like Harold Reynolds is saying that typically every player in baseball runs inside the line when they hit a ball.
