BigSqwert
QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Aug 7, 2012 -> 07:41 PM) Ventura needs to figure out that Rios should be our 3 hole hitter before the point in the season that Guillen figured it out with Dye in 2005. Yes. It's pretty obvious to everyone.

fathom
QUOTE (chw42 @ Aug 8, 2012 -> 03:44 AM) Time for our Chris Perez moment. I hate losing to the Royals. Brutal game, as KC was better in every aspect (hitting, pitching, fielding, managing). Sox need to go out and destroy Guthrie tomorrow.

chw42
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Aug 7, 2012 -> 09:44 PM) Yes. It's pretty obvious to everyone. The reason he hasn't put Rios at 3 is because Dunn breaks up the string of right handers at the top of the lineup. If he puts Rios at 3, he'll end up hitting Dunn at 4, which is even worse because he's not going to hit Dunn 5th and A.J. 6th.

I could care what hand he was born with.

I could care what hand he was born with. The best hitter should hit in the 4th hole. The 4th and 5th spots get more opportunities to drive in runs than any other position in the lineup. This is proven through Markov chain analysis. I'm alright with the way the lineup is constructed right now. I'd think a swap of A.J. and Dunn would be good though. RZZZA
Its unacceptable to lose to Bruce Chen in the middle of a pennant race. Ventura had a terrible game. Meh... kinda not his fault either that Jordan can't lay down a proper bunt. And leaving Peavy in too long didn't seem to matter much since our pen sucked tonight any way. This was not a good game. Wouldn't it be awesome for the bench to step up and win the Sox a game when the starters are struggling? You'd think it would happen by fluke at least once (ie: Laird vs Sale in April).
South Side Fireworks Man
QUOTE (Caesar @ Aug 7, 2012 -> 09:45 PM) Its unacceptable to lose to Bruce Chen in the middle of a pennant race. Ventura had a terrible game. Stupid having Danks bunt with men on 1st and 2nd with no outs and Olmido up next. What was he thinking, risk having guys who don't bunt much execute two successful bunts in a row? Best case scenario is you're sacrificing two outs just to score one run after getting the first two men on base. Terrible.

What was he thinking, risk having guys who don't bunt much execute two successful bunts in a row? Best case scenario is you're sacrificing two outs just to score one run after getting the first two men on base. Terrible. No team has consistently comeback against the White Sox more over the last 8 years or so than the Royals. Playing for one run there was dumb, but Danks has got to execute better than that. Caesar
KC is 4-4 against the Sox this year, 1-7 against the Tigers. That just may be the difference in this division.

Cali
I don't think Robin's gonna change the lineup. He's too scared since they've been playing well and even after the Tigers swept he didn't change and the team bounced back.

That just may be the difference in this division. Sox have lost 7 of Peavy's last 10 starts. They need to find a way to start winning more with him on the mound, as he's likely the only sure thing they have with regards to pitching every 5th day.
