Greg Hibbard
Tigers/Yanks series needs to have one less game and their current record is 59-50. Edited August 7, 2012 by Greg Hibbard
Cali
I'm sure the answer is "Yes, it's designed that way" but I swear every season the Sox have always had these 4-game series' with the AL East way more than with any other division. And it seems like they ONLY play 4 games series' with Blue Jays and Orioles. Never 3 gamers.
Cali
Also, the Sox need to have at least one or two sweeps in there to have a good chance. Lots of chances too with Minny, Seattle, KC and Cleveland...
flavum
QUOTE (Greg Hibbard @ Aug 7, 2012 -> 01:01 PM) Tigers/Yanks series needs to have one less game and their current record is 59-50. It's an equal amount of games. The final third of the season.

flavum
QUOTE (Cali @ Aug 7, 2012 -> 01:05 PM) Also, the Sox need to have at least one or two sweeps in there to have a good chance. Lots of chances too with Minny, Seattle, KC and Cleveland... Definitely would like to see the Sox sweep some team and not *have* to beat the Yankees 2/3. And of course, going into Detroit and winning a series would go a long way to winning the division.

flavum
QUOTE (whitesox901 @ Aug 7, 2012 -> 01:14 PM) I don't know if Detroit wins 90. They went 33-21 from Games 55-108. If they match it, 91 wins. Plus that final 19 games for them...is anyone going to be surprised if they go 15-4?

Plus that final 19 games for them...is anyone going to be surprised if they go 15-4? Playing better recently, sure, absolutely. They also played poorly from game 2-55 (23-30) That's the same team, except now they have Infante, Sanchez, and rotated some of their generic AAA outfielders (Rayburn/Kelly/Ryhmes, et al) Yeah, they lost Smyly and Fister for some time, but we've goon through stretches without a lot of our starters too. I'm still in wait-and-see mode from Detroit. EDIT: Forgot my oxford comma. Edited August 7, 2012 by whitesox901
Cali
I would s*** my pants with glee if they could somehow go 6-1 in the final 7 against Detroit. Hell 5-2 would be fine too..

flavum
50 games left. Go 6-4 five times, and we're in good shape. But I'll take 7-3 three times, then 5-5 the last two.
