flavum
QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Aug 23, 2012 -> 03:50 PM) What does the -1 mean? How did a sweep of NYY result in -1 of anything? Collectively, it's what they have to do to get to 91 wins. So if the Sox do what's below the line, they'll only win 90 games, which makes them -1. Tigers have done what they're supposed to, so they are Even. I have the Tigers going 24-14 the rest of the way, including 4-3 against the Sox. Hopefully we do better than that. kapkomet
That 0-3 KC series sticks my ass. I cannot understand why this team sucks donkey against KC. But whatever, they snapped out of it. 20-16 vs. 22-13 looks a whole lot more achieveable.

flavum
Well, the AL Central shows its true colors once again. I guess neither team will be getting to 91 wins. Half way through these final 54 games: Det 14-13 Sox 13-14 If they do the same thing the final 27 games, they tie with 86 wins. Meanwhile the Orioles have caught the Yankees at 76-59, by going 19-8 the last 27 games. And the Rays have gone 18-9 the last 27 games. Cali
Honestly neither team looks like they want it. Sox can't beat Detroit, but Detroit can't take any momentum from beating the Sox to take hold of first. And every time Detroit loses, so do the Sox so they can't build enough of a cushion. Neither team may even crack 90 at this point. Might be an 88 game winner.

When I set it up, I had the Sox going 31-23 and the Tigers 33-21 in the final 54 games to tie at 91-71. They were going ok for a while, but neither team is playing very well. The Sox are leading the division with the 7th best record in the AL. The AL Central: Where you can play bad baseball and be treated like a Champion.
