BigEdWalsh
Wow. In both cases this will be interesting to see what they do at a next level. I was hoping for Hawkins to go to Great Falls only because I'm seeing them play tonight.
NorthSideSox72
Kind of a surprise, this late in the season. I figured they'd keep Trayce in A+ for their playoffs. Then again, maybe this is done in part so that Trayce is AA-qualified for a slot in the AFL (I think there are limits as to how many players below AA can be in the AFL). Hawkins was seemingly doing pretty well in Bristol, but it is hard to use stats in that league with such a small sample size to evaluate anything. I assume this means an OF will go from Kanny to W-S as well... probably (hopefully) my AAP Mark Haddow.

I'm sure he'll be back in W-S once their playoffs start

Chicago White Sox
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 13, 2012 -> 12:08 PM) Counting the recent Mitchell move, the Sox have been really aggressive moving their hitters up. Buddy Bell has really been pushing guys since he took over. While I think it's overall a good thing, I do think Mitchell & Saladino could have used more time at AA. These moves I'm cool with. Doesn't look like it Tim Hayes @Hayes_BHCSports @BristolSox relief pitcher Matt Talley promoted to Low-A Kannapolis. Sox receive OF Andrew Douglas (.163, 4 RBIs) from Kannapolis. #MiLB
Cali
Well the move to AA might kill Trayce's chance at 30 bombs haha. Still a good season for him. If he succeeds in AA full time next year watch out. Also with as aggressive as they're being with Hawkins if he produces he could easily be on the Sox by the time he's 21... ChiliIrishHammock24
Surprised they pushed Hawkins so fast. He wasn't really tearing up Bristol, at least not statistically.
mgaughan09
Good to see these guys getting pushed to a next level, gonna be interesting to watch how they perform especially considering the tear Trayce has been on recently. Goodluck Trayce and Courtney.
danman31
QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Aug 13, 2012 -> 03:08 PM) Surprised they pushed Hawkins so fast. He wasn't really tearing up Bristol, at least not statistically. That said, Bristol is getting crushed. It's probably not easy to be on a team like that and maintain your top focus. Maybe heading to Kanny, which granted has also struggled lately, might be a nice refresh and reinvigorate him to finish the season strong. Pure speculation, but being on losing teams can be a black hole of performance.
Cali
Also I'd imagine they want to get Hawkins some more AB's since he's had so many washed away by constant rain outs

I expected this season to be different with all of the high draft picks going there and some repeat guys, but they still suck. That team is a black hole. NorthSideSox72
QUOTE (dasox24 @ Aug 13, 2012 -> 04:56 PM) Yeah, what's up with Bristol? They are terrible, literally, every year. I expected this season to be different with all of the high draft picks going there and some repeat guys, but they still suck. That team is a black hole. What's interesting is that the Sox' other rookie team, Great Falls, is almost always crushing that league. As I understand it, the Appy and Pinoeer leagues are both considered advanced-rookie, and at a similar level. But the Sox send their more polished players to Great Falls, and the younger, more raw guys to Bristol. So, they tend to be a little overmatched maybe.
