QuickJones81
I was a bit surprised when I saw this. Anybody have any inside knowledge or additional insight on why they let him go? http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2012/08/mino...ry-infante.html
cabiness42
They needed to free up a spot on the 40-man roster in order to call up both Lopez and Gimenez, and apparently Infante was deemed the most expendable.
Balta1701
There's discussion on this in PHT as well. Not only did he never really earn a callup, his numbers have fallen off badly the last couple years. K/9: 2010: 10.4 2011: 7.6 2012: 5.7 At the same time, his BB/9 has gone up, not down. southsider2k5
QUOTE (QuickJones81 @ Aug 31, 2012 -> 08:44 AM) I was a bit surprised when I saw this. Anybody have any inside knowledge or additional insight on why they let him go? http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2012/08/mino...ry-infante.html He never lived up to his promise, and we have a minor league system full of relief pitchers which are much closer to the majors than he is.
