Which loss was most annoying/agonizing this year?

By my calculations, the Sox were 0-14 with man on 3rd during the KC series, including 8 at bats with less than two outs. Not once did they get the runner home.

 

 

And the statistical average for that situation is 58%, so we should have scored at least 8 additional runs, which would have led to 2/3 and probably a sweep and 4 game leading heading into a 4 game set.

 

Oh well, it's NEVER easy with the White Sox.

 

If they can survive this September and make it into the playoffs somehow, anything is possible, as the Cardinals have proven twice now.

And can they just release Ray Olmedo and bring up Conor Jackson?

Agreed, today's loss was one of the worst. Really missed Youk today. Olmedo is not a major league player.

There have been so many agonizing losses again this year which again makes this team "team dysfunctional" once again. I thought having Youk around would cure the Sox of KCRoyals-itis and some other things. It didn't. Sox still lose in the most agonizing of ways.

Still, look at DET.

 

Swept at KC, lost 2/3 at home to the Indians, then swept in LA.

 

1-8 against all non-Sox teams in baseball the past two weeks.

 

A lot of those losses were 1 run affairs, with abysmal hitting with RISP, just like us.
