southsider2k5
Quintana to Omogrosso to Veal. Exactly how you draw up getting out the middle of the Tigers line up with the game on the line.
greg775
QUOTE (TheCut87 @ Sep 11, 2012 -> 03:42 AM) With first base open don't you walk fielder here? You don't want to put the tying run on first and lead run at the plate. You only do that to the Pujols of a couple years ago. Way to go, Mr. Veal. Three outs from a huge win. Can Addison Reed give us an easy ninth?? Some closers have easy ninths one in a while. This would be a big one. Wrap it up, Sox.

Exactly how you draw up getting out the middle of the Tigers line up with the game on the line. I could see using Grosso since he looked awesome his last outing. caulfield12
Coke for AJ, then Marte for Viciedo and Ramirez. Doubt they use up Villarreal here. And he's pitched too much recently for the Tiggers.

Cerbaho-WG
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Sep 10, 2012 -> 09:44 PM) HUGE HUGE HUGE out. But don't stop now boys! Veal is definitely positioning himself to be a key in that 2013 bullpen. He's been the most consistent guy down there, all things considered. Unless Veal goes Ankiel in Sept/Oct or Spring Training, he's sewn up that spot in 2013.

TaylorStSox
QUOTE (chw42 @ Sep 10, 2012 -> 09:44 PM) Wait, what? Wise wanted to go to second because Fatty didn't want to leg out the double. Gordon never covered the bag. That's why Wise held on to the ball and allowed Drunky to take second.

kitekrazy
What bothers me is the veterans seem content with a 3 run lead in late innings. So you see really bad at bats.
greg775
QUOTE (Noonskadoodle @ Sep 11, 2012 -> 03:47 AM) I hope we do see him. Gotta prove himself in a BIG TIME game like tonight. it really is time for no drama, just get the f***ing save. Detroit is not some amazing team. The Tigers can only beat us of late. Time for a regular, no drama save! It might set the tone for Peavy tomorrow.

flavum
Great job by Quintana. I really didn't think he had it anymore. If he found his second wind and Floyd comes back strong Wednesday, my optimism may find its way back. Still gotta get those easy runs across home plate. A guy who has been your closer 90% of the year or a guy like Crain or Myers who have been inconsistent as well? Show Reed you have confidence & put his ass in the game. If we wanna make noise in the playoffs (if we get there) we need him.
caulfield12
UGLY night for Viciedo. However, he did make a huge throw to gun down Peralta at 2B to prevent what could have been an even bigger inning.
