caulfield12
QUOTE (chw42 @ Sep 10, 2012 -> 08:06 PM) Q's getting the good hitters out and letting the bad ones on base. Austin Jackson=not bad Raburn=bad this year, but historical Sox killer
ChiliIrishHammock24
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Sep 10, 2012 -> 09:01 PM) Getting by with smoke and mirrors, that ball was smoked. He was getting by with smoke and mirrors all season. I'd like to find the thread, but all year long I was telling people he wouldn't last. I said something about his ERA being around 4 by the end of the season, and it appears I could be very right.

kitekrazy
It's nice to see a pitcher throw inside. Too bad it's not ours.
caulfield12
Porcello=Jon Garland with 2-3 more MPH on his fastball/sinker Similar careers, in the sense they both started out in the majors at 20 years old and seemed like they were around forever. caulfield12
The irony is that Q has an ERA of 2.70 for this game. We just can't hit Porcello or with RISP, or both. August or a day game, that's a homer. Thankfully, we're in the colder SEPT weather. Edited September 11, 2012 by caulfield12

Q doing his part so far. We need to start hitting the ball.

caulfield12
QUOTE (Andy the Clown @ Sep 10, 2012 -> 08:13 PM) I hate watching this team play. Corpse-ball deluxe. Yes, it's frustrating...but even if we lost tonight, we'd still be in first. Hard to complain about a first place team nobody expected to be playing meaningful games in SEPT. If you want, though, more power to you. If anything, the Tigers are the team that should be embarassed they've played down to their level of competition all season long. caulfield12
QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Sep 10, 2012 -> 08:16 PM) The only guy they seem to hit is Valverde. We really couldn't have asked for much better than 1 run through 4 innings from Quintana...especially at this stage where he's WAY over the number of innings he's ever pitched in a single season. It's the offense that is clearly suspect and "choking" right now.
