It seems like a lot of players like Wise love being on the White Sox. Remember that era where nobody wanted to play in Chicago? I'm surprised players like Mark B and others don't give the Sox just a tiny discount in wanting to remain in Chicago. I'd think Youk would be the same way. Why go play in New York or Boston or Philly where they will boo your ass? Stay in Chicago for a million or two less. Even Peavy seems to like it in the Windy City.

Thanks for your opinion.

Check Dan Johnson's career major league stats and tell me his a right handed pitcher killer. These numbers included the time he actually was a pretty useful every day player. I understand you want to use a 33 year olds AAA stats as a barometer, but if you do that, the Sox should consider bringing back Josh Fields. This is the major leagues. Dan Johnson sucks.

I think Youk would give Boston a nice discount if tey wanted him back and Valentine wasn't there.

They way Youk has hit away from USCF, if I were him and wanted to play baseball beyond next season, I'm thinking White Sox for whatever they will pay me.

That and our options at 3B besides Youk are dismal.

One year that worked past October. It's the Sox MO.

They Sox have always been better when they hit more homers. Their weakest total the last 10 or 12 years IIRC was in 2007. If Alex Snellius is writing a lot of checks, the Sox are probably winning more often than not.

I thought there was a stat that no homerun champion has ever won a world series? Doesn't address your question but I remember the cards in the early 80's having one guy Jack Clark.

Ever? Find that hard to believe thanks to the 27 Yankees. Maybe more recently?
