southsider2k5
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Sep 12, 2012 -> 07:50 PM) Where was this Gavin Floyd all season long? He's pitching at a noticeably faster pace than usual. Just getting the ball and throwing it back to the catcher. And his curveball has been impressive in nullifying the bats of a mostly FB hitting team. Hard to snap a curveball when your elbow hurts.

Cerbaho-WG
At least it took 8 pitches for Johnson to K. Progress?
fathom
QUOTE (daa84 @ Sep 13, 2012 -> 12:56 AM) Great ab so far It would be interesting to see if the Tigers start Max over Verlander in game 1 of the playoffs if they make it. He's clearly the better pitcher right now.

caulfield12
Luckily I have a class and won't need to sit through 6 more innings of Sox bad at-bats. Because the most interesting time of this game will be the last 2-3 innings, as usual. 46 pitches for Scherzer, 41 for Floyd. Johnson and Hudson completely blown away by Scherzer's stuff. That's what happens when you come off the bench and try to hit a guy like that...almost impossible to keep up your timing with just regular BP. We saw what happened when Tyler got more repetitions, his swing tightened up just enough to start experiencing some success. daa84
Ugh I keep waiting for one of their fatf***s to go mo vaughn and eat himself out of baseball, and for one of their starters to reach back for a bit too much and pull a tony Saunders. Neither ever happens

kitekrazy
QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 12, 2012 -> 06:53 PM) Yep, much more likely to get the run home by stealing 2nd and then Konerko singles to right. Konerko doesn't appear to be doing well with RISP.

stretchstretch
after winning gm1 in convincing fashion, the crazy optimist in me started thinking the worst we could do was lose 2/3 and exit up two games. should have known better, can already feel the tie for 1st by close of business tomorrow, regardless of how good Gavin looks tonight; our two hit games aren't going to get 'er done. up three with three to play could have put these guys in a giant hole after this series.....
