BigSqwert
Robin's current season of MLB 2K11 on Xbox 360 doesn't show that Sale pitches on Monday.
Paint it Black
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Sep 13, 2012 -> 10:03 PM) Robin's current season of MLB 2K11 on Xbox 360 doesn't show that Sale pitches on Monday. Thread over. But in all seriousness it makes sense. Skip a start. Give him some needed rest.
greg775
QUOTE (Paint it Black @ Sep 14, 2012 -> 03:21 AM) Thread over. But in all seriousness it makes sense. Skip a start. Give him some needed rest. At this point we need a win. I think it would be just as big a W if he could get it tomorrow vs. Minnesota. If Sale could shut down Minnesota and we win, 5-0, and Detroit loses, that's just as huge as whatever might happen Monday.

IlliniKrush
Extra rest for what? There's 3 weeks left. He's your best pitcher. You start him on normal rest every time unless he is injured or needs the rest. Every time you give him more rest, it's another start made by someone else that isn't nearly as good as him. Greg Hibbard
Why not pitch Quintana on Monday on just one extra day rest? The way he handled the Tigers I'd like to see him again instead. I'd go Sale/Liriano/Peavy/Quintana. Peavy will still be on 5 days of rest, Quintana has an extra couple.
ChiliIrishHammock24
QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Sep 14, 2012 -> 01:26 AM) See Strasburg. You also have to think about 2013,14,15,16. 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016 aren't guaranteed to give us this good of a chance at the playoffs. Playoffs are in reach now, so throw everything at that effort. I say pitch Sale as often as you can in 2012. (within reason, obviously)
chisox0587
just win baby! Put 18 runs on the twinkies today like they did to us at the cell. Paul Konerko with a couple bombs this series, got to get him going! He needs to smash with the stache.

cabiness42
Moving Sale back to Monday means he gets three more starts. Having Sale pitch tonight means he gets four more starts. Four starts of Sale > Three starts of Sale

Rooftop Shots
QUOTE (onedog#1 @ Sep 14, 2012 -> 06:31 AM) not much, just tired of seeing soft singles from our captain, hoping he can do a little more for the remaining 18 or 19 games. and the fact that to opposing pitchers PK no longer seems to be a dangerous threat anymore. How many clutch situations were there where we really needed some runs........... has he come through without hitting some weak sqibber to the shortstop, or a lazy fly ball? the first half.............he was dangerous to the opposition because they knew that he was going to hit it HARD someplace. Now......solid hard contact out of him in key situations is horrible. If we are going to have a chance at this thing we need the PK back that we know him to be
SnB
Wins are wins, regardless who we're playing. Get a W tonight w/ sale on the mound and roll through the weekend. (if only it were that easy)

Last time I checked, Sale isn't coming off of Tommy John surgery. If you are that concerned with 2016, shut him down the next 3 seasons, he'll be nice and fresh. NorthSideSox72
If you skip Sale's start to put him Monday, then you have one less Sale start this season. And one more start from the Liriano/Axelrod/Santiago slot. Kinda need that extra win right now, so... pitch him tonight and get a W.

However having him pitch tonight gives him 2 starts during the next homestand, pushing him back gives him only one.
