LittleHurt05
Season on the line, here comes this guy: Gavin Floyd to face a Weaver unfortunately, not that one, but this f***ing guy: Real, bucket-of-suck, & greg775 may be rooting against the Sox today, but lets waste their time and win a f***ing game, huh? Brian
Having a frustrating week with my sports teams and with work, I'll stay away from the thread with my expreme frustration and pessimism so I don't cloud it up and/or ruin it for anyone. Go Sox!
caulfield12
Notes to RV and the team: 1) Please, no more DeAza and Dunn in the first three hitters, it makes us too vulnerable to LH relief pitchers who can pitch a full inning. 2) No more YOUK in the 2 hole on the road, scarily enough, maybe Beckham is the best choice for now 3) Alexei Ramirez, you have sucked recently in clutch situations...not scoring the 3rd run to make it 4-3 last night just killed us
The Ginger Kid
I wouldn't move Dunn, he's been tremendous to watch lately. 1-18, and that performance last night was just...wow, epic. I'd leave him in the 3 hole to get him as many AB's as possible.
Jake
Game 152 or wherever we're at is probably not the best time to shuffle the lineup

caulfield12
Twins starting Walters again Smyly in the nightcap. Scherzer vs. Diamond in Game 1. Would rather that Diamond started against Smyly, but oh well. All the momentum goes to them with a tie for 1st. All of it flies out the window if Scherzer goes out of the game early again and is probably done for the season. caulfield12
Cabrera strikes again. Broken record. MVP/Triple Crown. Hard to beat with how inept the Sox line-up has been. Scherzer with 62 pitches through 4, did get out of runners on 1st/2nd and 1 out situation in the first, hasn't been tested since then. Walked another batter, that's it, basically. caulfield12
About to blow the game wide open in the 4th here if Diamond doesn't stop the bleeding right now. If not for a great Eduardo Escobar play, it could have been even worse. 2-0 Tigers into the 5th. Edited September 23, 2012 by caulfield12
JoshPR
A lot of grumpy people here lately, I really don't blame them, the sox 33% of there lineup has to be 3 of the dumbest players in the game....
caulfield12
How can the White Sox still be at 75+% and the Tigers at ONLY 26.4% to make the playoffs with ONLY a 1/2 game lead right now? WEIRD. Scherzer's velocity is down quite a bit. Still only 92-93 but effective. Normally, he's in the mid 90's by this point in the game. Looks like he's starting to tire and have some control problems now. Escobar with the steal, in scoring position now. 0/3 with RISP. Threw Span a nasty slider to get him on a 3-2 count. caulfield12
2nd and 3rd, no outs. 3 hits in a row, 2-1 and a great chance to take the lead. Bullpen coming in, Scherzer showing clear signed of fatigue and diminished velocity today. Infante involved in another bad throw to Fielder which wasn't scooped up. No surprise, he's been horrible with DET fielding-wise.

Spoke too soon on that front. Unless they develop White Sox-itis with RISP and no outs here. Only 4 K's for Scherzer, more evidence of his reduced stuff. caulfield12
Dirks with a DeAza-esque playing too far back and getting a bad jump single allowed to Morneau. 4 hits in a row now. 2-2 tie, runners on 1st and 2nd, Doumit up now. Need to move those runners into scoring position and make a productive out. Bases loaded now due to atrocious walk by Coke. Now Phil's done. No outs still. C'mon TWINS, blow this game wide open. Interesting decision by the Tigers to go with the statistical trend and pitch the lefty Smyly (shaky at best his last bullpen outing against the A's) rather than Rick Porcello against the Twins in the nightcap. Not clear if they're going to skip Porcello against the Royals Monday night or go directly to Anibal Sanchez. 8/21 inherited runners had scored, now 9/24 and two more could still score this inning. Villarreal in to try to limit the damage. 6 straight batters reach. Plouffe grounds a single through the infield. Still no outs. Like me not talking about Ozzie anymore, I wish the board would not talk about these percentages the rest of this season and in the future. They are stupid. When you are 3 games up like we were at one point, all that means is a team like the Angels sweeps us and Detroit wins 3 and it's gone and the percentages meant squad. It's like those newspaper articles I used to read when a team falls eight games back in April. The writer would look up the record the team would need to win the division and it would be some insane winning percentage that never took in account the other teams' records. ugh.
